I thought it might be a good idea to start a topic for us to share the Low Memory issues we are seeing in SU5 - to report instances of both successful and unsuccessful and also to share our config data - number of streamed add ons, RC size etc - so we can pool data for MS/Asobo, but also so we can share info and see if there are any temporary workarounds until the underlying issues are addressed:
I’ve got 4 aircraft installed - PMDG B737-800, B737-900, B777-200LR, and B777F. also have Seafront simulations Global Shipping and marine database installed. I’m streaming the Kodiak100, FlightFX Hondajet and the A2A Aerostar 600 as well as 5 livery packs - so installed add ons =4, streamed add ons = 8
500Mb/s fibre

Rolling Cache 16GB

Graphic settings all Low/Off except static aircraft variety = medium
Two very successful flights with no memory warnings or WASM crashes:
Both very good flights with no problem.. Noticed a lot of slow, late pop in of textures at OMDB which went along with some judders taxiing in to stand - it felt “on the edge” for a couple of moments as the sound cut out twice, but apart from that they were both trouble free, relatively smooth flights. I have not triggered the memory low warning yet…

Great thread, I was thinking about installing aircraft too, surely it would help. Currently im at about 50/50 completing 4hour missions in career mode in the airliners, it’s a killer because everything else is so nice
Now, Sony console owners are facing this issue, and it’s difficult for them to fly, as the memory fills up in just 1-2 flights. Moreover, PS doesn’t have a roaming cache, so there’s no way to fix it.
I’ve just completed LIEO- EDDF in the PMDG B737-800 (TUI blue livery) with no issues apart from some juddering on RW25L at EDDF as the auto brakes came on - some of the runway textures were causing this I think. Flight time 1.35. Cruise FL 400
Apart from that it was a perfectly smooth flight with superb LOD on take off and approach - you could even see steam coming out of a power-station cooling towers on finals. It felt very realistic and immersive . There was a bit too much cloud to see anything en route. Panning round the cockpit was very smooth from start to finish.
Flight plan was imported from Simbrief - minimal use of the MSFS EFB or ATC….
If I was beta testing I’d have rated this flight 7.5 - any of the pC naysayers would have been impressed by how well everything was running with the LOD so sharp… and no memory warnings to be seen
So… what’s going on here with these widely different experiences? Is it the aircraft? Is it something to do with memory use somewhere? I don’t have any other SW apps running on my Xbox and never ever use Quick Resume - the only add on scenery I have is Seafront Simulations’ Global Shipping and the database - both installed..
Anyone else got some ideas here?
