Hello, is there a option where the flightplanner suggest a altitude for a flight when i choose a dep apt, arrival apt and a a route or do i need to calculate it by myself which FL is the best? Thx
In upper right on the route screen sets the feet for cruise. You can change that based on the plane. Simbrief assigns a level automatically based on flight and aircraft. I don’t think the mags flight planner automatically decides yet. Is that what you’re asking?
Look at the origin and destination for the airport levels.
For better answers go to the Working Title Discord. Talk directly to the developers.
As MrBill points out that’s where you can set the altitude in FL (Flight Level) or Ft, however it’s 90% of the time total garbage. It will give you FL239 in a Cessna 172 as an example.
- the Cessna can’t get to FL239
- you would never be given a flight level that wasn’t a whole 1000ft (I think there are some circumstances where 500ft increments are possible, but can’t think of the rules for that off the top of my head)
- it doesn’t take into account winds aloft forecasts
- it doesn’t consider whether even or odd altitude based on direction of flight
Basically the altitude it puts in is meaningless tripe. So you need to work it out yourself using tools outside MSFS2024 and then input that figure in there and resubmit to ATC and send to Avionics. You might as well have done it in simbrief.
Better answer!
Simbrief is far better featured in some regards. My guess is Working Title will eventually evolve to similar level.
Thx guys for all of your answers. Yes i look for something similar like in simbrief to get an altitude suggestion. I thought its might be somewhere in the MS flighplanner as well. But in this case i stick with simbrief Thx a lot again
