Sun and Moon look too small in MSFS24

This is an issue with the headset’s resolution and maybe the dynamic range of the image, not so much the size of the moon.

We already have that option: zoom.

You can just zoom in to make far objects have the same apparent size as they do in real life. You can also use head tracking to accommodate for the tunnel vision this creates. In the process, many folks will discover that instead of looking around all the time, they just like having a wider field of view, and that the necessary trade-off to this is that things in the center of the frame look small.

After MSFS2020 in 2024 the moon and sun seem unrealistically small, why did they do it this way?
Is it possible to increase the size of the moon and sun to a realistic size, and not like the current small dot?

From what I’ve read on other threads it’s related to how the eye sees those celestial bodies versus how a camera picks them up. They seem to be technically correct, but it’s kind of like how a tomato is technically a fruit but you wouldn’t put it in fruit salad - this “technically correct” thing seems to bother more users than it does make them happy.

Yeah, as an amateur astronomer I can assure you that the size in 2024 is accurate. It always bugged me that they were oversized in 2020.

But I’m not opposed to either a slider to adjust the size or a switch to set them back to the 2020 version. More options is always good, and they’ve already removed so many that we had in 2020 from us on Xbox.

Not in VR it isn’t

Now I look out the window from my house and in reality I see the sun twice as big as in the MSFS

Again, your field of view on the screen is different than the one your irl eyes have - I guarantee if you set it to the equivalent value, it would be more accurate-looking (though the game may not be fully playable at this setting lol)

Its size relative to the rest of the sky is correct, you’re just seeing more of it at once
