Super Constellation

when will the most beautiful airplane that has ever been built finally arrive, namely the … Lockheed Super Constellation, for which I would even be willing to spend 100 €, but then it has to be perfect

Guess you have to wait for A2A and that might take a while…

Well that remark certainly added a lot to the topic!

Be ready for looooong waiting))))

Very long. A2A stated that they have currently no plans to bring their Connie to MSFS.

Red wings Sim works on this beautiful bird

Ouha… wow… that cockpit picture from behind the FE station looks incredible. Their features list is just as great. I‘m in…

The A2A Connie was not a Super Constellation. Not that it matters. It was a joy to fly. And the extras like the career mode, ‘Betty’ and the optional FE position were sprinkles on the cake. It’s what make FSX / P3D worth going back to.

Maybe someday, we will see one here.

Well, RedWings isn’t what I call a premium developer, so it certainly won’t be anything close to the PMDG DC-6, but if the price is right I’d surely settle for something less advanced as well.

Well I’m not sure if you were kidding, but actually that screenshot doesn’t give me high hopes. That looks decidedly like a low-polygon FSX port to me and the textures aren’t pretty either. So let’s hope that’s just WIP.

Well …
If I take a closer look at the screenshots of Mont Saint Michel and the Statue of Liberty I would say: these screenshots actually ARE from FSX. How long has this page been up?

I have two sceneries from them. They are not bad, but also not excellent. But I think they are good value for money.

This are MSFS screenshots, clearly.

Ok, if they really are, then so far I’m afraid the project doesn’t impress me much.

I didn’t think it was an attack. It was a valid question: also I don’t think that Red Wing is sub-standard in any way. As I said they have solid products for a very reasonable price. There is stuff that’s better, and costs more, and there is even more stuff that costs more and is total rubbish. So all is well here

I don’t have that much experience with P3D and FSX addons. I did little flightsimming between FS2004 and FS2020 so I didn’t invest much in addons the last 15 years. FS2020 really reactivated my interest.

Thanks very much. Glad you like them. Always try to chose the views in a way they are more useful and still feel natural.

Yeah same here. Also the advances in graphics didn’t impress me much. MSFS was a real quantum leap compared to XPlane and P3D.

Was wondering the same thing. The Asobo planes are mostly ok, but I don’t fly them much → therefore no mods from me.

But I think we’re starting to hijack the thread.

I was looking at it on my smartphone and the small picture looked great. After I read your reply I went to the PC and looked at it there. Yeah, work to do…

Their features list sounds really good though, if the appearance isn‘t deceptive.

Super or not it was the best Connie we could hope for and it is great to fly. Unfortunately they didn‘t put anymore time into it, it would have deserved some TLC, the FO and Betty comms are inaudible if ATC squawks into it and you can‘t repeat what your crew said. For non-native english speakers it‘s extremely difficult to understand. Unfortunately A2A completely ignored any requests for improvement of this aircraft and now there hasn‘t been anything new at all for 3 years. I don‘t keep my expectations high with them for this sim until I see something.

Super Connie has an amazing prop blast!
Was fun shooting some stills out of it at Quincy once.
