Super strange. ATC works but Pilot and Co-Pilot voice is gone?

Okay, I give up! This afternoons IFR flight went perfectly (well, ATC wise) so it’s not that.
I suppose I’ll just have to put up with it until something better comes along.

Fun fact. Yesterday evening was one of thes 20% of flights were ATC worked as intended. Since it comes and go everybody should know its a problem by Asobo!

Everybody already knew that

Then someone should wake up Asobo devs. But dont startle them

The problem is with the Microsoft Azure servers. Therefore, there is nothing that the Asobo developers can do about it. What would you like them to do? Provide alternative voices? There already is that option in the game.

You also have the option of using third party ATC.

OK you made the point. Lets cancel “devs” and just wake up Asobo.

I had the same problem with non Azure voices.
Had partially succes by switching off memory integrity (Windows 11). Maybe got lucky…

But Asobo knows. They are supposed to use Azure. Microsoft wants them to. What do you expect them to do?

If you want to blame Microsoft, then I’m onboard

Discovered at least one trigger for AI not working.

If i take off from an unmanned field (no tower), the AI won’t work. ATC works, but i have to manually make all selections to communicate. But i also have no ATC voice. So i have to watch the screen to see if i have been given an instruction n then manually reply.

This does not happen from airports with a manned tower.

Does this happen every time, i.e.is it repeatable? I would guess probably not, it’s yet another symptom of the incredible instability of the ATC/pilot voice bug. I can go for numerous flights with no problem, from international airports to bush strips and all is fine. Then out of the blue one or other stops working, usually in flight and it takes a few minutes to notice. For me, and I stress for me, I can usually get some semblance of ATC back using the ATC Assist.

Another long thread elsewhere about it with no signs of anyone able to do anything about it. I was hoping SU13 might have attempted a solution but nothing in the notes so it looks like the forthcoming 3rd party addon, Beyond ATC, might be the only solution. Or MSFS2024.

That is the problem. It happens regularly, but not always. Now I had a good period with no problems. But tomorrow it can change. That is why so many look for the trigger, but we still do not have THE trigger. At first, I thought that their servers are just bad, and you lose them, and they won’t come back until you completely restarted the sim.
Until now, I am clueless. But the problem itself is really annoying since it destroys the whole immersion!

Hi, for me since the last update, atc is speaking strange language, mid english mid another language AT the same time ( Chinese)?.
It IS funny at first, but now, please restore the correct ATC language.

This is a predictable effect of using a cloud-based service. Network issues and server overload can result in problems that are unfixable for the user.

Keep this in mind when reading about how MSFS 2024 will have more streaming and less local data in order to startup faster.

Tbh you made a point. If it is a server problem and they cannot manage ATC always what will happen if more will be streamed?

Unfortunately, it will mean that this problem happens more often.

One thing I think would be a good idea to add would be some kind of “reset” option for Azure. So if the voices go out, you could try to reset the connection and get them back.

But at this point I assume I’m going to loose ATC voices on long flights. So I always use the ATC assist for the copilot to talk to ATC.

I do that too, but actually ATC is very stable. Don’t know why, but I just enjoy it so long.
