Support DLSS OVERRIDE in the Nvidia App to change DLSS profiles

Dear MS FS team,

I think the VR users are having great out of the box experience when fs2024 comes with the latest DLSS version that is configured with preset F.

I was quite blown out of the water how much clarity was increased by doing that.

However I can understand that for alot of ppl this is difficult to do, first you have to download a program for swapping dlss files, and next you have to download and changes setiings in the config file, whilest also renaming files, know what to change etc. Probably have to do it over and over again after each update.

I know we are still early adopters but you can make it easier for us. If there were clear reasons for not doing so in terms of technological constraints let us atleast know.

Nvidia has recently released the new version of the Nvidia App which supports overriding the DLSS version. This allows the game to use the new profile, profile J-K, which supports the Transformer model. This model allows for much better visual quality (no 2D smearing fix, sadly). Sadly, without an official flag in the app, which apparently it’s down to the game developers, we can’t do this in-app.

I’ve been manually swapping it using the Nvidia Inspector process, but it would be much easier for everyone involved if the flags were allowed in the Nvidia app officially by Asobo.

Following, how the app looks now:

how it SHOULD look, if supported.

And how the options would look like:

This would simplify the process of updating DLSS and using the latest profile, rather than leaving the less technically adept community stuck with an older DLSS version.

Did we know if next FS update will includes DLSS last NVidia driver has ?

I wouldn’t expect compatibility with new DLSS4 until SU2 update.

I agree. But…

I do have more general computer knowledge than some, but I knew nothing…nada…zilch about DLSS versions and presets, DLSS Swapper, nVidia Profile Inspector or DDU a year ago. I watched videos. I asked questions. I learned.

It pains me to say this, but if you want to fly the sim without learning how to configure your PC for the best experience, fly it on Xbox.

That said, it’s not a bad thing to wish for better configuration and optimization tools in the sim. There are benefits to that - but there are also pitfalls. Personally I like having control, and I like learning how to control things on my computer that Microsobo can’t or won’t give me control over. Without violating the TOS, of course…

A good example is ā€˜Dynamic FPS’ tool. We asked for a granular, user configurable tool, and got what? I tried it and saw nothing that made me say, ā€œCool, thank you!ā€ In fact what I saw was decidely ā€œMehā€ and haven’t enabled since.

Less experienced PC users can experience anxiety. It’s a natural reaction to a new and somewhat complex thing. But to move past that fear you need to dive in, and take advantage of the resources that more experienced users on the internet offer free of charge.

SU2 :exploding_head: incredible !!!

It’s already compatible. I’m using it right now. All it takes is Asobo to enable a flag.

There is 0 need, FS24 will ahve DLSS 4 support in SU2

True, use it, but it does nothing. I just tried yesterday, with, and without. There is absolutely no difference. Using the same drivers, and dlss files. And "activated " through profile inspector. Theres no difference at all in quality, or performance

DLSS4 isn’t fully compatible yet - and no, Asobo can’t simply swap the files just like that

It is. I’ve forced it on, it’s ā€œfully compatibleā€ whatever that means. Running profile K right now.

There’s a pretty massive difference, today it accidentally reverted to profile E and I noticed how everything was pixelated (performance mode).
