was told that 2020 would not be abandonedware. We were told in the June 2024 dev livestream they were working on a smaller SU16 and beta would be ready by October. Then that was reneged and moved to January 2025 for SU16. Then the disaster that is MSFS2024 took the MainStage, like I predicted a year ago would. We have had no mention or any information of substance to when 2020 will be getting its fixes for Xbox Series X with SU16. Just put 2020 on the back burner and sweep it under the rug. Now it seems we won’t be getting any System Updates for 2020 until 2024 is ironed out. Presumably not til 2026. Taking a 2 year hiatus from 2020, I would hardly call that “supporting til 2028” when you take 2 years off of development and updates.
Considering it’s been a year since the last System Update, I’d say they are done with 2020 until they can figure out 2024 which may take another 4 years. I’m still waiting on SU16 to fix what SU15 stole from us. Again, taking a full year off of 2020 is hardly “supporting til 2028.” It doesn’t matter if we get WU, or marekplace updates if the core sim is suffering. Especially when those WU’s come with their own issues that take a year to fix.
Are we ever going to get a fix for the WU18 issues in the alps and Zermatt? The mountains satellite imagery are still completely shadowed. Making most of Switzerland’s alps look like flying through a black hole. Detail-less, black mountain sides where there was once vibrancy and beautiful detail. Most of Zermatt’s mountains look like a forest fire came through and scorched everything even the rocks and cliff sides (image is Riffelhorn and Gornergrat observatory in background.)
IIRC, In the last Dev Stream, I believe Jorg said they would resume working on 2020 towards the end of this year. Of course that remains to be seen.

Did he also say anything to the effect that MSFS2024 would be an improved, monumental change for the better?
