Switch from AMD Radieon 6700 XT to Nvidea 4090

I’m removing my GPU, AMD Radeon 6700 XT and installing a new Nvidea 4090. Is there any advice regarding proper removal for MSFS 2020 to function properly afterwards? I plan to remove the card physically and all drivers and software that I can from the Win11 installation. But, if there’s a procedure I should follow, I’d really like some advice.

Thanks!

If you want to start with a clean slate:

  1. Download the most up to date driver package from Nvidia, do not install yet. Also download and install Display Driver Uninstaller.
  1. Fully disconnect from the internet to prevent Windows from trying to automatically install new drivers, then reboot into safe mode.

  2. Use DDU to remove any and all currently installed video drivers.

  3. After any necessary reboots from DDU, shut down and install the new card.

  4. Boot up and install Nvidia drivers from Step 1. Some people recommend not installing GeForce Experience. I would as well to limit unnecessary resource usage unless you have a specific need for it.

  5. Reboot into normal mode and reconnect to the internet. You should now be done.
