Made this short 4K cinematic style video to showcase the brilliant freeware mod for Sydney CBD and Harbor Bridge. The download link is in the video description…
Looks spectacular!
Yeah…it’s some great scenery. Still some work needed on night lighting but it is a great start
Cheers. Yeah, the behaviour of the traffic is quite immersion breaking.
Looks great! Only for some reason it stutters. It seems we have won this disease.
Just a heads up If you have less than 11gb of vram you’re going to get a massive performance hit flying into Sydney in’t airport.
Very nice. Don’t forget the night lighting please.
This is the first freeware scenery I have tried. Read the comments about the FPS hit that comes with it so did a direct comparison, before and after adding, and happy to say, my system took very little hit. 2-3 FPS max. I averaged 28-mid 30s throughout. That was including the Sydney Harbour Bridge freeware also.
Thanks so much for this scenery! Now to find a good Melbourne/Moorabbin!
I7-7700K, Strix GTX1080ti, 32g ram. 3440x1440, Ultra Preset.
That’s why I said performance hit flying into Sydney airport.Overclocking did not help either neither did manual caching the area
Its clearly an issue with the scenery and not the AO.I am ok with my settings for what it does.
AO does not have a huge performance impact on my system compared to buildings and shadows which are lowered. The problem is where the assets come from which have Million’s of polygons to reduce and I don’t think it will get much better than this with the current DX implemented. I think the person responsible has done a good job with doing this. Compared to ORBX London and City airport which is where I really see performance drops this works a lot better.
Agree they did a decent job but I’m sure Asobo/Microsoft can do something better when ever Bing gets an update but it’ll do for now.
What would be great is if someone was to restore the rest of London Bridges which apart Tower Bridge just look wrong lol
Ah you have point with the AO despite not a huge hit on my system looks a bit too much baked in on ultra.
