Just wondering is there a setting that I can change to make my take offs & landings a bit less of a struggle? I’m finding that during the take off roll down the runway as speed increases & applying rudder to try & keep it centre lined the plane is wanting to tip its wings to one side.
It then becomes a fight between rudder & ailerons in order to keep it straight & level. I’m not sure how realistic this is as I’m not a real pilot but would like to tone it down a tad.
Same when coming into land, nice glide path coming into land above threshold but as soon as it hits the tarmac the fight begins.
Turtle Beach velocity yoke and thrust master pedals. I’ve made adjustments in the controls settings but can’t say it makes much difference to what I’m experiencing as mentioned above.
just to add I’ve been flying the carenado B55 a lot since loading 2024 so will have to see what my other aircraft handle like.
Which airplane are you using? Some airplanes have completely off ground handling characteristics (Twin Otter for example, where you can literally shove a wingtip by just turning).
IRL, you generally use a little bit of rudder to compensate for wind. Crosswind also derives in a differential lift performance between wings depending on the crosswind components, so you generally need to also apply some aileron.
In short, rudder keeps you on runway centerline. Aileron keep your wings level. Depending on crosswind component, it’s more or less of each.
