Tallinn Airport EETN by Drzewiecki Design

Don’t think Drzewiecki Design doing any posts themselves in here.

Baltics and Estonia got some love finally, quality work by Drzewiecki Design - Tallinn Airport EETN with Tallinn landmarks included. @DrzewieckiD

Probably another PC-exclusive. Us Xbox owners are beginning to feel a bit left out in the cold — and you never seem to be able to find out because the developers’ websites never give a clue as to which platforms their products are available for.

He already said it is pending for xbox.

Good to know. However his last project(?) — EWR — was almost a ‘lite’ version for Xbox, with no animations or terminal interiors. I’m pretty sure it could have been done to the same standard, as demonstrated by the likes of NZA, Pyreegue and Flightbeam.

There are currently nearly 300 airport sceneries pending for Xbox, stuck in the Marketplace awaiting Microsoft/Asobo approval. I imagine/hope a lot of what we’ve seen for PC lately (MK DUB v2, Aerosoft BRU) is held up in that queue!

Performance optimisations for xbox…
Its located in the most performance intense area of the whole simulator. Of course he has to cut some things for xbox.

That’s far from clear based on the many airports out there on Xbox that do ok, including the developer’s own KDCA.

I personally like the idea of “lite” versions of detailed 3rd party airports aimed at optimization, but (1) they should definitely not cost the same as the full scale version and (2) shouldn’t skimp on things like parking or other details outside.

In the case of pricing, this isn’t the developer’s fault. In fact, they tried to offer a reduced price for Xbox but “MS informed [them] that we can’t make a different price.” I recommend folks avoid any full-priced “lite” airports until MS changes this policy.

Hey. Only recently MS/Asobo developed a system of testing Xbox products by developers themselves, which was not possible before. This will allow to actually test Xbox performance and put a reasonable amount of details. We are still waiting for our Xbox-capable employee to approved for the program.

It’s a good development. I read NZA is doing the same, because there are issues on Xbox with their recent NZCH.

If we are going to see more “lite” versions for Xbox, which i believe is not a bad idea, a reduced price offering would only be a fair gesture in my opinion.

I just can’t pay 25 euro’s on EWR knowing that it’s “severly” bumped down.

Nice! Looking forward to this one, northern Europe is getting a nice coverage of quality airports and Tallinn will fill a gap!

Thanks. So what’s basically been happening is that developers have been doing all testing on PC, with zero knowledge of how it will perform on Xbox? And so to pre-empt the possibility of problems, you omitted certain details from the Xbox EWR scenery just to be sure it runs okay?

Presumably the level of Xbox optimisation can now be pretty precise, and you can fully test what and what not to include?

Just a heads up, if you are getting an annoying, frequent stutter around the airport, disble the animated peoples trough the installer.

Exactly.

Hi All,

Has anyone bought this on Xbox yet?

Bit hesitant to go all in on this, just in case there are performance issues or significant details/functions missing. Any early buyers able to advise, please?

Drzewiecki has made complex airports run smoothly on Xbox (NRT and DCA spring to mind). It’s not cheap but you’re getting the city too, which looks pretty detailed.

Currently on sale from JF right now, I couldn’t resist. Flew in to EETN from ESGG tonight. Fantastic scenery including the town. Absolutely amazing, extremely detailed interiors of the terminal including gates, check in , baggage reclaim etc. The interiors have ambient sounds too, and just the right amount of passengers. The sunset was a bonus. You all need this one it is superb.

Gorgeous scenery and a step up from what they’ve put out before (not that their previous work was bad). I bought it at Xbox launch and actually wrote a detailed review in these forums. Considering the amount of detail, it runs very well. My only minor complaints are the abundant default ground textures and a lack of weathering on the airport buildings. But that terminal interior is the new benchmark and the city buildings are of a higher quality than previous releases.

Yes, the terminal looks new texture wise. It doesnt look oddly out if place though. I did see the default ground satellite imagery textures you refer to here and there, especially the streets around the added city scenery, but to be expected I guess. The region hasn’t been featured in a world update (yet) either. Who knows about the scope of the next WU though. :man_shrugging:
I’ll definitely be coming back here though its now an impressive new destination. And on sale too, which surprised me being a new (April 2023) release airport.

How much is it? Just wondering as I can’t see the price, since I already own it…

Amount paid: $24.28 AUD (including VAT of $3.88 AUD)

(Price without tax: $20.40 AUD)

Just Flights Drzewiecki sale has it at 11.99 GBP. It’s not discounted on the marketplace (at least yet).
