Every time I start MSFS, the Taxi Ribbon (in the Assistance Navigation Aids) goes to the OFF position, although I set it to ON. How come?
It looks like you have a settings sync issue with your online profile.
Try to set it to ON, then save and apply.. and then exit MSFS. Then start it up again. If things are saved online properly, the next time you start the sim should have the taxi ribbon ON.

OK I followed your instructions and set the taxi ribbon to ON, save, exit MSFS , and start it again and now the taxi ribbon is still ON. Lets hope it stays this way.
Well the next day when I started MSFS it went back to the OFF position. Why I don’t know.
weird… assist settings shouldn’t change on its own like that, unless someone has accessed MSFS with your account and turn it off from their end.. 
Yes it is weird. Nobody has access on my MSFS but me.
Same issue for me too, taxi ribbon setting is off and on every other time.
this is a bug i think.

Have you try the Taxi ribbon mod? I use that and haven’t had this problem.
I have just come across another issue with the assistance option menu changing my preferences. I always have AI Radio Communications (ATC) set to OFF. However, running a landing challenge turns this setting to on without me initiating it.
I am wondering if, for the taxi ribbon, there is a possiblity that a landing challenge (or another Activity, e.g. Discovery Flight) has been started, that may change the taxiway ribbon setting without intervention.
Since SU5, I’ve noticed that most of my assistance settings go awry every time I play some activity, like bush flights and landing challenges. As these activities have preset assistance configuration, it seems clear to me that they are messing with my general assistance settings.
For weeks now I’ve not played any activity and my assistances are behaving as intended (keeping the last configuration).
You are correct everytime I use the Bush Trips this happens to me too (taxi ribbon goes to OFF)

Not the taxi ribbon, but I think ATC assistance turned itself on once. It took quite some time to find out why I could not change my frequency.
AI radio communications (ATC) gets set to ON, even after I set set it to OFF - #11 by tamalien .
Yeah, this behavior happens with several assistances, including AI assistances. I usually turn on ATC AI on long flights and it’s quite annoying when I start a new flight cold and dark and, as soon as I power avionics, the copilot instantly asks for pushback, taxi clearance or VFR clearance or whatever.
Yeah, that’s why I make it a habit by turning off AI assistance before I make my final turn to the gate, and check on it as soon as I start my flight.
Yeah… I need to add this item to my pre start checklists… 
Pre-start checklist and pre-parking checklist too. If I left the AI ATC Radio control on before I make my final turn to the gate. By the time I set the parking brake on, and shutoff the engine, the Copilot would start requesting pushback again and I have to manually cancel it before it starts moving again.
