Temporarily Disable Yoke?

I have a Logitech Flight Yoke System. My wife unfortunately has a stupid cat that jumps into my lap with no warning, which many times has pushed my yoke, causing my Longitude to plunge to the earth in a blaze of glory. I thought I remembered that toggling or disconnecting USB connections has caused CTDs, so I’d want to be careful of course, but is there some way that I can disable the yoke so it won’t cause a problem while I’m using the autopilot, then kick it back in when I need it?

If not, then that’ll just give me another reason to strangle the stupid cat, which actually wouldn’t be so bad.

Use the wall plug in usb hub these things are awesome I use this so much and you can actually turn off the usb power and turn it back on

I actually had one of these in my closet and dug it out - it worked! Thanks very much for the tip.
