This is my first post so I apologize if I’m doing it incorrectly. These forums tend to be a little overwhelming.
I’m having an issue with the latest update that only seems to affect my local airport in Vancouver (CYVR). I’ve installed the sim 3 times and have no add-ons but yet I get terrible FPS stutters at my local airport. I’ve tested this on several other airports within my city and have even tried airports such as KSEA and EGCC in other countries but they run super smooth without any issues.
I get about 9-24 FPS with non stop stutters and it only seems to be in Vancouver International
Yes! thank you for posting the thread, that’s exactly what’s happening to me. I’m also running a new high end system and everything was running fine before this patch update.
Id like to report that this is also happening to me and its frustrating since its my home airport as well
same specs as OP but cpu 14900k
getting about 22fps at the gate before it was 100+
Someone else mentioned this one and another airport, CYPK, which I checked out because I wanted to see if I had the same experience. (I also had the same GPU as that person, a 4080 Super.)
For me, I had no stuttering at either airport other than the usual intermittent hiccup when loading AI aircraft and/or scenery while I flew over the airport, and given the level of details, I was not surprised by that at all. Those brief moments of stuttering only lasted 1 to 2 seconds at most, but otherwise, my fps was surprisingly smooth.
I’m still very curious about this airport stuttering thing, so I’m going to do some experimenting this weekend, maybe even keep a spreadsheet of my findings. Definitely something going on, even though I don’t seem to be experiencing it quite as much as others are.
well… I kinda worked around this now by setting TLOD to 10 at CYVR stutter is still somewhat there but very very reduced and then when i fly out i just set it back to 200 or 400, the rest of the settings remain on ultra defaults
