That’s good for you!

just personal experience and comments on here and Steam. But you’re one of lucky ones. Thats good. I crash at 80% load screen now never had a (major) issue with the game prior.

I am the one who belong to 20%

Those that are having crashes (I crashed on load a couple times in the beginning of the patch), reset rolling cache and turn on generic models for MP and live traffic. That allowed me to load and havent had any more issues. If that doesnt work, turn off multiplayer for a while and obviously dont use any systems mods (like G1000) unless they are updated by the respective developers.

Thanks for the tip but how do I reset rolling cache? I can’t even get in the game now. Delete the .cache file?

It is really beautiful, night flying on a nearly full moon along the California Coast.

Yes you can manually delete it. The worst thing could be that you might have to reactivate this setting.

Hmm, well if you cant even boot the game up that is a bigger problem. I would say the first thing to try would be to deactivate any mods in your community folder by temporarily moving the files out of the community folder assuming you havent already. Then unplug any peripherals such as flight sticks, pedals or hotas other than mouse and keyboard.

If you can get in game and you are getting crashes when loading in a flight, then what i said is more applicable. If you never activated rolling cache it wouldnt matter but rolling cache reset button is the “delete rolling cache” button in general settings -> data -> delete rolling cache and you can reactivate it if you want but i wouldnt set it to any larger than 30 gigs if you do. Many people leave it off.

Hope that helps

Thanks @Ephedrin87 … The rolling cache didn’t help unfortunately…

@SuperSasquatch
It appears (now) it’s a known issue with peripherals pluged in … So yes I could remove all my flight controls, but then I wouldn’t even be playing this game. So I’ll just wait… Hopefully it’s a faster fix then 2-4 weeks. It’s just really surprising to me… Thanks for the assistance.

I just got the update and flew a DA-40 over downtown Chicago at night, all the way from the north to the south suburbs. I must say that when combined with an ultrawide monitor with HDR, the effect was absolutely spectacular. I had goosebumps the entire time- never has a night flight been so enjoyable in any flight simulator period. It looked like GoPro footage from a real flight I saw on youtube. Sure, there might be a small hit in performance from the better anti-aliasing, but it is so worth it. Simply amazing.

Completely agree. I am blown away. I’m flying over terrain I fly over IRL. It is stunning.

In fairness: roads are too bright. But other than that, amazing. Night flying is always my favorite.

And I spoke too soon. Just tried another flight from Santa Monica and immediately got a CTD. And I’ve never had CTDs with MSFS yet.

I had one tonight too. Sent the screengrab of the event log to Zendesk.

They’ll figure it out.

Second attempt at the same flight plan? So far, so good.

I have to say, the Halloween event flight I had the time to do looked amazing. Really did feel immersed in that weather, and the sound was crisp and real.

Now I redid the Santa Monica flight during sunset, flying along the coast of LA. Also blown away- probably the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen on a computer monitor. And with some calm ambient music playing- bliss.
