Asobo Studio’s rendition of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has been met with widespread criticism from the flight simulation community. While the aircraft boasts impressive visuals and a detailed exterior model, its systems depth and flight model fall short of expectations.
Key areas of concern include:
Simplified Systems: Compared to previous iterations of the 737 in flight simulators, the MAX 8 in MSFS 2024 features a simplified systems model. Many critical systems are either absent or lack the depth expected by experienced virtual pilots. This simplification diminishes the overall immersion and realism of the aircraft.
Flight Model Inaccuracies: While the MAX 8 generally handles well, it exhibits noticeable deviations from the real-world aircraft’s flight characteristics. These inaccuracies, particularly in certain flight regimes, can detract from the overall simulation experience. Not to mention that the trim is horrible on this aircraft you can’t even fly it because it wont take off.
Missing Features: Several key features expected in a modern airliner simulation are notably absent from the Asobo MAX 8. This includes a lack of advanced autopilot features, a simplified flight management system, and limited customization options for virtual cockpits.
Performance Issues: Some users have reported performance issues when operating the MAX 8 in MSFS 2024, particularly on lower-end systems. These issues can further diminish the overall experience and enjoyment of the aircraft.
Conclusion
While the Asobo MAX 8 offers a visually appealing representation of the real-world aircraft, it falls short in several key areas. The simplified systems, flight model inaccuracies, missing features, and performance issues leave much to be desired for those seeking a realistic and immersive flight simulation experience.
Can you detail which normal operations (not abnormal operations) parts of the systems are not functioning per the real world aircraft?
Aside from your experience with the trim, can you describe the specific deviations you are referring to and what the expected performance is? Is it not meeting FCOM performance for you?
Can you detail the specific advanced autopilot features present in the real aircraft that are missing in the sim Max that you would like to see? As well, can you describe specifically which real world features of the FMS that are simplified in the sim that you are referring to?
With that information, we can get actionable feedback logged! Thanks a ton!

TL;DR - When the developer asks for a specific list, kindly give them a specific list that preferably is reproducible for the defect(s) noted. Working Title is laboring for the user community and MSFS to improve products they are assigned to. Please do not respond using a Generative AI or other automation tool. Use your own words folks.
Please provide specific examples.
A330 Driver has created a youtube video to demonstrate issues he found, you need to be more specific, perhaps a video.
When will we be able to send flightplan from the FMC to the ATC even in this plane in career mode, it would be nice to be able to use the vnav profile to decend automatically without the ATC screaming bloddy frikkin murder.
Also, in career mode it would be nice to be able to use simbrief import even in careermode as the flightplans made in the efb beforehand doesn’t take account for prohibited airspace and such, which simbriefs flightplans does.
Thanks on beforehand
