The Bush Divers Invitational: PNG series part 4: Simbu

This weekend, we return to Bush Divers’ homeland: Papua New Guinea! Continuing our series, we depart from Goroka, capital of the Eastern Highlands, climbing to the west to land at PNG’s highest airstrip, KEG Keglsugl. From there, we’ll attempt a heroic climb to the peak of PNG’s highest mountain, Mount Wilhelm. We’ll visit many bush airstrips as we work our way south, stopping in at AYCH Kundiawa, the capital of Simbu (Chimbu) province. Don’t miss the challenging approach at AYGW Guwasa. We’ll explore the slopes of the volcanic crater of Mount Karamui before finishing up at AYDD Dobu.

12 landings in total, 168nm. The highest point we’ll pass over is around 14,000 feet. The shortest runway is 1252 feet (AYNO).

CHANGE OF TIME: the first run will now be an hour later, at 20:00 UTC.
