As PPL-A pilot, I logged around 400 hours on a real C172 Skyhawk. After installation of my new MSFS 2024, I immediately got into a “cold and dark” Skyhawk and tried to start the engine. First as I did it IRL, then exactly according to the given checklist. No success, the engine turns when the key is in the start position and ignites a few times when the start position is released, that’s it.
The “STRG + E” cheating was also unsuccessful. The engine ignites and turns for 3 seconds and then dies. Obviously there is no fuel flow. But why? There are only a handful of system components involved which the pilot has to adjust for start-up. I checked each one carefully as I did 100 times IRL. What am I missing in this Sim?
