The function to find your TAS is broken on the standby airspeed indicator.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:

Cessna 208

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

Yes and yes.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Always.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

Spin the knob in an attempt to set pressure altitude (window at the top of the airspeed indicator). It will not move however the TAS card will.

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

What peripherals are you using, if relevant:

Silly question, are you sure you removed the pitot cover during your preflight? Pilots have been known to miss items.

Re-reading your complaint, why are you trying to adjust the pressure altitude? I can find nothing in the 208B POH about adjusting the Standby Airspeed Indicator. Is your screenshot taken while sitting on the ramp with the engine off?

You misread what I said. You don’t adjust pressure altitude itself. It’s something that you find by setting your altimeter to 29.92. You need to take the pressure altitude scale and align it (by adjusting the knob) with the outside air temperature. This will give you your TAS (provided your airspeed is within the window that TAS is shown).

Yes. That is completely irrelevant to what i am reporting.

EDIT:

Pressure Altitude - 8000
OAT - 6C
TAS - 161

This on the airspeed indicator would indicate a TAS of 161 knots…

The problem is that you can’t align the pressure altitude with the OAT to get your TAS. It’s stuck at a pressure altitude of 18,000 and an OAT of 0C.

Roger that…I fixated on the Standby Airspeed Indicator with the needle at zero.

Sorry, I don’t know your aviation background. Flight sim forums are fraught with posts that are crystal clear to the poster, but leave readers with questions. I apologize for offending you.

I post this with the utmost respect, this example and screenshot showing the bug is IMO more helpful than the OP screen.

Fly safe. :salute:
