I tried today in FS2024 to land to LA GOMERA (GCGM) with head wind of 15 knots (real weather today). Impossible, I soon as I approach the final the aircraft is literally sucked by the ground. The only way to land is too either be much higher than the approach path, or much faster in order to pass as fatest as possible this critical part (last 0.5 NM before runway treshhold. It only happends when the R27 is in use. I tried multiple aircraft (cessna 152, DA40, Cirrus Vision Jet, all of them are crashing…
Someone else as tried it?
I had a similar experience today in BGGH, Nuuk (runway 22, real weather, headwind aprox 20 knots).
Short final, 100-200 feet AGL, stable approach, everything perfect. Suddenly the plane is sucked into the ground (as if it would loose 30 knots or so in the split of a second). You can’t do anything (except going into TOGA, but even then the engines spool up to slow).
Never experienced something like this. It felt like a wrong calculated downdraft by the simulator or so.
Does your La Gomera-problem happen with every weather?
Update: I changed turbulence-setting from realistic to medium, this helped a lot.
I have not retried but indeed I did it with the weather as most real as possible. In the meantime, I have active sky. I should retry with active sky. It is obvious that this is an issue in the Asobo weather engine. I will try to make a new flight there and keep you posted on the result.
