The mission incorrectly recognizes the altitude

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
ATC and the Mission (medical) require to gain altitude 13000. But in fact, in order for the mission trigger to work, you need to gain 500 feet more altitude. As a result, the ATC records the violation. It turns out that if we fulfill the mission condition, we will receive a fine from the ATC. And if we follow the instructions of the ATC, we will not receive a bonus from the mission.

ATC gives you barometric settings when you switch frequencies. Are you sure that you set baro to proper values? 1hpa of difference is about 20ft of altitude.

Please read it carefully. It doesn’t matter. ATC and the Mission read the altimeter readings RELATIVE to EACH OTHER in different ways.

Happened to me too. I think ATC uses transition altitude of 18.000ft worldwide (which is wrong and annoying that it is still not fixed), while mission uses the right one (for EPWA near your waypoint it’s 6500ft). So for ATC you would need the actual QNH to get their altitude right, and for the mission you need standard baro. Depending on the weather this can easily mean several hundred feet difference.

It is caused by Live Weather.

If i disable it i never have issues with mission/actual altitude not matching.
Live weather enabled, always issues.

Mission seems not to account for differnt baro values due to (live)weather.
(record was ~4000ft difference between ATC/plane, and what mission wanted)

FL390 from ATC and aircraft matched, but had to climb to 43400 to satisfy mission.

Hope they can fix this soon, very annoying on Medevac Missions …

Oh man, thank you! As soon as i toggle off the live wheater the medical mission worked fine.

good to know there is at least a workaround, thanks.

Not only that, but it is out of synch with the pilot announcements and the co-pilot.

Countless under 10,000ft speed violations while at 11,000ft. Yes, even with baro set.

Still not fixed in SU1 Beta.

Makes the Medevac Missions extremely annoying.
You either have ATC constantly nagging you about wrong altitude, or you get bad score for Mission.

This is not just Medevac missions, happens on all career IFR flights. Mission incorrectly wants altitude in feet while ATC correctly wants the flight level. Add in the different transition altitudes (here ATC is wrong) and and end up with a mess. Turning off live weather works because the preset always uses standard pressure, but is unsuitable as I want to fly in live weather.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
I have played a further 4 medical missions and on each occasion when I meet the ATC FL, it does not register. I have checked the altimeter and all is correct. It is usually about 800-900 ft out before it registers, but then ATC continues to advise that I am at the incorrect altitude.

When it does register the cruising altitude, the patient check does not happen and the remainder of the flight is in silence with no chatter.

I was on FL190 below, but when I defended to FL181 it registered. I checked the altimeter and all was correct.

Description of the issue:
When ATC asked you to go to a specific altitude, the mission step doesn’t register as it only looks for altitude on 29.92 (STD BARO).

no mods

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Every single time Baro is not 29.92

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
“Missions” are still not recognizing altitude correctly.
Most noticeable on Medevac Missions, but other have same issue.
It is caused by Live weather.
Always have to climb higher than mission requests, to get it to progress.
But then ATC is permanently complaining…

Altimeter was set to STD.

Always with Live weather enabled
Never with Live weather disabled

  2. Climb to altitude the Mission is requesting (with correct altimeter setting)

Thank you! Thanks for sharing, this was giving me such headache. :face_with_head_bandage:

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yep.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Cessna Grand Caravan in Career Mode > Medevac Mission. ATC instructs to climb and maintain 10,000ft, and at 10,000ft indicated (standard pressure as described by ATC before takeoff), the “Mission Steps” does not recognize the indicated altitude as the one it wants.
I figure this suggests that I have the incorrect altimeter setting, but this is what I was given and the “Set Altimeter” keybinding I have doesn’t change it from 2992 to anything.
