The new Chinese font makes characters' font weight inconsistent

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

The first SU04 Beta build introduces a new font for Chinese characters to make sure texts in the EFB are rendered correctly.

It works well, but the new font also causes the font width of Chinese characters to be inconsistent across all UIs.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

All the time across all UIs.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Change client language to ZH-CN

  2. See if the font width is consistent

Hi @Diablohu,

Could you point out which screens have the width issues, and how the inconsistency impacts you?

Thank you!

Every screen if there are Chinese characters.

With this inconsistency, does it make it difficult to read?

Depends, do you think this is difficult to read? (yes it does)

Thank you! I now understand the problem to be with the inconsistent font weight. The test team is looking into it.

This problem can be fixed by simply changing a display font, but you need to find a proper font that works with Chinese characters.

When doing investigation, you may also look into different areas using Chinese characters like Singapore where using different type of Simplified Chinese, and Region of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Island using Traditional Chinese.

This is the result for me. See pictures below.
