Really love the guided tour, and really wish we could freely choose the aircraft for it. For example, I’d rather fly a helicopter for most of the guided tours, but we only get one helicopter tour which is the Bryce Canyon tour. Isn’t Grand Canyon also more suited for a helicopter? Anyway more choice would be great, isn’t it?
I completely agree.
Also, having the audio language match your edition of MSFS.
Moved to the Official Microsoft Flight Simulator > Wishlist that is more suitable based on the description.
I agree, so voted. Perhaps by allowing users to change ones aircraft in a similar manner as one can in World Photographer flights.
Changing the aircraft is a must in all bush-like activities.
I tried these for the first time yesterday and I learnt something new! I have been pronouncing grand “Teton” wrong
Apparantly its “Tee–ton” ![]()
100% agree, would also be nice if we could change the time & weather too. Voted ![]()
P.s Micro/Asobo we want more of these Guided Tours please!
I didn’t know these existed. I may have to try it out now just for the heck of it, but got my vote in the meantime. Sounds like a good idea.
I’d like to add my support to this request as well. It would be great to have the option to change the aircraft for guided tours.
How can i use this guided tours? I can not find it in my MSFS 2024… ![]()
I see only the new discovery flights, but nothing which is called guided tours. Thanks!
It’s in the Custom Content area, not the Discovery Flights, just keep scrolling to the right in the activities section. It’s the very last option.
I looked there too… There were no guided tours…
To change the Aircraft follow these steps:
- Enable Dev mode
- Select the guided tour from Custom Content
- Start the flight, i.e. you are in the cockpit
- From the Dev menu → Tools → Aircraft Selector.
- In my test, after my choice of Aircraft was loaded, it was in cold and dark state. Ctrl/E or start it manually.
- Take off. The commentary will commence once airborne.
I tried the Grand Canyon Tour. The Sim assigns the Patey Aviation Draco X.
I changed the aircraft to Asobo Cessna G1000 from the Aircraft selector.
Why I changed the Aircraft?
For my flying, I have configured stream deck profiles, Axis and Ohs etc, for the air crafts I normally fly and then the flying becomes second nature. When a brand new aircraft is offered to me for these guided tours, I don’t have my familiar setup and it becomes annoying to have to configure all my tools just for this tour.
Happy flying!
good to know… Thanks!
Fully agree, though I can maybe understand their reasoning for not allowing as much. Given that the scripted narration is based on a preset timing between waypoints, flying one of these Guided Tour activities in, say, an F-18 would completely ruin that timing.
Of course, that’s on the user for picking something inappropriate for the activity, and shouldn’t be a reason enough to block everyone else from being able to choose an appropriate aircraft of their choice - but just trying to understand what their rationale might be.
Wow, thank you so much for showing the way!
This could also happen in an ordinary bush trip, but in MSFS 2020 it was possible to change the aircraft and nobody complained. I don’t think that anyone would complain in this case either. I did all the bush trips in 2020 with the aircraft I liked most and it was a great fun. Even I repeated some of them with different planes. That’s something I miss a lot in this edition.
It was not possible natively, only if you made changes to files as far as I know. And it was restricted for (I believe) the same reason, as using a different plane other than what’s prescribed would throw off the navlog timings for dead reckoning. Again - should be user’s choice if they want to do so, maybe with a warning beforehand.
