Wanna share the settings? Are you in the fenix discord channel?
In REX Atmos, the cloud detail slider can be adjusted from a soft appearance to more defined. Rayleigh scattering and ozone effects have also been applied, along with modifications to the overall scene tone. All of this in real-time while the sim is running.
So is this a static weather engine too? Can we just use it with built in live weather and tweak the colouration and scattering etc?
It seems like you can create âweatherâ trough it, but i assume its a static scene, so not really a weather engine, but your able to create clouds trough it. Thats how i interpret it atleastâŠ
I donât think thatâs true, on another forum I read that it works fine with any sort of weather, live, AS, etc. It doesnât really effect weather as in clouds/winds/baro etc. its more lighting related.
Iâm personally quite interested if it works well in VR, but yes I too hope that itâs not super fidily with manually loading of preset. A best guess for what preset is appropriate maybe based on metar and time of day or something would make this much more appealing to me.
Nah, Reed from REX specified it. Atmos generally works with EVERY weather, BUT the cloud definition setting (softness of clouds in the latest screenshot) does NOT work with MSFS Live weather, only with preset weather, like Active Sky or REX Weather
But, i think you can create âweatherâ with Atmos, but its not really âweatherâ, more like a static preset, but we have to see
It also says on the last screenshot:
âEditable parameters: Weatherâ
So i think you can create custom weather trough atmos, but its not really a weather engine, more like the weather settings in the sim, with some more features like cloud definition.
Oh man, i really hoped for a release this weekâŠ
Same, this has me very intrigued.
So many teases and not released yet. Anticipation is killing me!
These change are from the main exe like when we got the update and shaders which is not supported, not allowed to alternate from Msfs. Fs2024 have totally new scattered engine and base form.
Yes, i know. we change these memory values, same as atmos does, with cheat engine already. But Rex has created a nice UI and basically their own âcheat engineâ.
It took a lot of time for MSFS to have the right scattering coefficients to make the sky look natural and now an add-on is again making the skies purple because they look pretty.
Not good to me but I understand some people might like it.
i mean itâs highly adjustable
With real-time rendering and complete customization capabilities, REX Atmos allows users to tailor every visual element of their flight simulation experience.
Does it also happen to enhance night lighting? Or is that a different beast altogether?
