The Roads Less Traveled
5/31/23 - Series 6, Day 2 - US-2 Westbound - New Hampshire, Vermont, and Montreal, QC!
Tonight we break camp at Gorham and take the amphib Beaver down Highway 2 through New Hampshire, Vermont, and into Quebec, where we will end in the city of Montreal. We have so many things to see along the way, including the alpine terrain of one of the most brutal weather locales on Earth, Mt. Washington, bucolic river valleys, Burlington and Lake Champlain, and the Richelieu River leading into the picturesque city of Montreal. This will begin our “portage” from the eastern segment of US-2 to the western segment (in the UP of MI) through Canada!
The adventure starts at 7p/10e/02z. Fly along, chat, or lurk, whatever you prefer. Let’s go!
The Roads Less Traveled series is a trip down America’s back roads - the US Highways, border to border, coast to coast. Each of these group flights includes virtual tourism and a narrated history of the area through which we fly. In order to get the ”cruisin’ down the highway” perspective, we fly low and follow the roads. We will use real-world weather until we can’t maintain VFR; ATC procedures and airspace are mostly ignored so we can focus on adventure, discovery, and fun, while still doing pilot stuff!
