Charlie Foxtrot Presents
The Roads Less Traveled
Season 7, Day 8 - US-101 South
Wednesday, 12/20/23
Silicon Valley and San Jose, to Salinas
Tonight we travel through one of the highest-value areas in the country, visiting several of the major tech companies that make up Silicon Valley, many of whose products we actually use to bring this series to you! We’ll chat about California’s third-largest city of San Jose, whose explosive growth has fueled California’s strong economy before heading south along the San Andreas fault toward the rich agricultural areas to the south.
My aircraft will continue to be the Backcountry 170B, available for free on Flightsim.to.
The adventure starts at 7p/10e/03z. Everyone is welcome to fly along, chat, or lurk, whatever you prefer. Let’s go!
The Roads Less Traveled series is a trip down America’s back roads - the US Highways, border to border, coast to coast. Each of these Wednesday night group flights includes virtual tourism and a narrated history of the area through which we fly. In order to get the ”rollin’ down the highway” perspective, we fly low and follow the roads. We will use real-world weather until we can’t maintain VFR; ATC procedures and airspace are mostly ignored so we can focus on adventure, discovery, and fun, while still doing pilot stuff!
