I’ve just got SU12 and ever since, the sim is stuck on the loading screen after launching a flight. I’ve uninstalled everything and tried multiple times but it has the same issue. I’ve left it for like 30 minutes and it eventually came on but with a “Bandwidth error” message. Just wondering if anyone here is experiencing this? I’m in the UK.
First off make sure Windows and MS Store are up to date.
Then check all your settings/options. Updates are notorious for making random, illogical changes. Clear Rolling Cache while you’re there, always a good idea after updates.
Next the standard, empty the Community Folder and try again to see if you’ve got an incompatible addon.
Maybe try “crashing” the sim, shut it down with Task Manager, and restart in “Safe” mode.
All ideas that have been tried and sometimes worked in the past.
MODERATOR EDIT:
It did it to me after a substantial FBW A320 update, from the main menu you set the flight and it loads it after 10/15 min if it goes well, always with the annoying message insufficient bandwidth, If you then go to the options and remove online photogrammetry everything freezes again and bye. In the end when the plane appears on the runway it is still playable.
Mine hangs on the flight loading screen if I have any other programs running like a browser (Firefox) or LittleNavMap. I have to keep everything else closed until the flight is ready to start and then I can open them.
Hmm. Sounds like insufficient RAM. Despite MS saying 8GB RAM is sufficient, in reality you’ll be struggling, 16GB is really the minimum. Higher can be better but more than 32GB isn’t required. If you’re using multiple memory sticks it’s also important they are matched.
Had the same issue for two years and read all I could to solve it. What really seems to help is to change the aircraft (or even only the livery) every time you start a new session of Flight Simulator. So never use the same aircraft (or livery) in a row. I have never had the issue again, also after SU12.
