The user-friendliness of this application is pathetic

I don’t know. I keep giving this game a new chance day after day and still I keep getting so annoyed and let down every single time. It’s been how long now since release? 5+ weeks? And how many patches had been released in the meantime? Almost a handful? But still some of the most fundamental issues haven’t been and probably won’t be addressed, such as the (when zoomed in) crappy world map that shows a ■■■■ load of white dots – and that’s about it. Good luck finding anything you don’t quite know the name of. Or maybe you just want to explore the area and think, well it must be around here somewhere, lemme find it … When you click on a dot, however, the software doesn’t even recognize you were obviously going for the airfield and comes up with some “custom” point (more like pixel, it really seems to go for the very pixel you clicked on) on the earth’s surface, unless you’re so closely zoomed in that you don’t even have a clue where the ■■■■ you actually are anymore. How is this possible? How is something like this released? How can it be that bad after so many months of Alpha and Beta testing?

The other issue I encountered once again is the traffic plates and the basic multiplayer experience in general. I’ve written it down on this image. It honestly looks like whatever comes before an alpha version. Like some internal multiplayer development test screenshot from early 2019. I’m really disappointed and will come back before Christmas to see if anything has actually changed for the better (and I don’t mean the scenery updates).

Good on y’all who are having a good time. I envy you! Take care.

Seems to be an issue for you in particular as I have always found you can zoom right in on an airport to where you can see the runways and parking spots. When you zoom in further you would also find those other dots are either smaller airfields or navaids.

I don’t think OP expressing frustration over this is unwarranted.

I feel the world map can be improved. I share similar sentiments about losing awareness of where you are when you have to zoom all the way, just to see an airport or a nav aid. Overlaying higher resolution satellite date and having more data with less zooming in would definitely help.

Name plates definitely need distances, a huge oversight that is detrimental to situational awareness. Maybe you would consider making posts under the wish list board in self service for some visibility? You would have my vote.

Cheers!

You enabled that yourself. You can disable navaids in the view settings of the world map.

I do agree that the world map can be improved, but please be constructive about it.

Would kill for taxiways on the airport / world map - they have them on the G1000, why not on the map? It’s hard to pick a good start point on the airport ( unless you really know it ) without showing taxi/ramp configuration. I’ve started quite a few times in a terrible location.

How about an add on …Little Navmap…I do believe it works with with MFS…and it does give you fantastic details of taxiways etc…and its free!

A better way than just picking one of the external tools to partner with is if they would just open this world map/nav log screen to the sdk. This page can offer you to do flight planning with this tool or use external tool. The external tool can connect via a local port and insert a flight plan directly without having to load a file. Then click fly on the page in game.

Fundamental things like that should not have to be worked around with addons. Nothing against Little Navmap, its cool. Im sure the map will improove over time. Intuitive handling of interactive maps are hard to do. Even google has its quirks after all this years.

They should just get the world map right… I have Little Nav Map, and I don’t want to switch back and forth between the 2 to see where I should start my plane. Google Maps would be better anyways - since I need to see ramp + buildings to know I’m not going to have to taxi out around a maze of T Hangars
