Hello everyone, first time posting here (I’m quite desperate!!)
I was wondering if any of you guys are experiencing the same bug as me on my Thrustmaster A320 joystick. So the thing is I had it for years, and this problem only started appearing a week ago or so;
My problem is that my joystick randomly starts getting stuck on at +100% on the L-Axis X and the L-Axis Y (not on the R axis or the sldier wierdly enough). This causes the plane to go full up (+100% on the L Axis X) and full right (+100% on the L Axis Y) during cruise when autopilot is engaged. The only workaround i found for the moment is to plug it out and then back it but this is only temporary as the bug re-occurs. This has made flying unplayable and honestly I don’t know if this is a harware bug or a software one.
Here’s a picture of what it looks like when the bug is happening :
This happens at radom times and is so annoying, anyone knows how to fix this ?
I would try different aircraft to ascertain whether the problem is unique to one model. Then maybe create a new profile for the joystick from scratch, I’m assuming you’ve had a thorough check for any control conflicts? Can you try a different controller? You say this happens on autopilot when you’re not touching anything, could you unplug the joystick, start a flight in the air and engage the autopilot to see if it still happens?
You may also try a different USB port or use a powered USB hub.
Already tried everything, note that this is a bug that happened recently as I have been flight simming with this joystick for 4+ years with no problems. I suspect the problem is that there is some kind of X and Y axis values error, because a full up and full right on this corresponds to +16383 on both axis. So maybe there’s a glitch where either the game or the joystick sets the value of the X and Y axis to -1 or something like 9999999 and it gets stuck at +100%. (pic for reference):
already tried, no results
Just guessing…you said that if you unplug and replug it back it works for a while.Could it be possible that you have a broken usb cable ? Best solution should be to try a different joystick as suggested by Silentrover4182
I’ve been using the same device for 4 years without problems so It cannot be a Sim bug.

As you’ve tried everything suggested it seems the only way to discount the possibility the stick is faulty is to try another joystick! but I realise that’s not as easily done as said. My own opinion is this seems likely to be a faulty pitch/roll sensor, although this component has proved much more reliable than the rudder potentiometer and thus is less likely to cause problems.
I’ve had my TCA Sidestick a few years now, it’s not been problem free and I’ve dismantled and re-routed the wiring from the rudder sensor, this is a well documented issue, so I’ve had cause to read lots of accounts of user angst but can’t recall anything like you are experiencing here. If you feel inclined you could take the base off and have a look to see if there is any wiring under strain, but this doesn’t sound like the usual type of problem with this joystick.
