Thrustmaster Airbus TCA side stick throttle problem

Hello there

I am relatively new to the sim and have just got the joystick mentioned in the title. I do not have the separate throttle section for the thrustmaster TCA set but have the joystick with the small throttle slider on the bottom.

Going into my first flight, I noticed that as I pushed the slider up to increase power, my actual in game thrust decreased (this was while flying the default a320). As I moved the slider down to try and decrease power, my in game thrust increased. This is very weird as all the other axes and buttons on the joystick work normally.

I checked the separate control panel for the joystick by thrustmaster and the throttle was responding correctly, ie increasing as I moved the slider up.

So I checked the sensitivity settings menu in game and tested moving the slider and the dot moved up the axis as I moved the slider down. I also changed the ‘reverse axis’ settings for the throttle control as this was on by default, but even after restarting the game the thrust was still inverted in game. If anyone has help i would appreciate it.

PS this is my first post so I hope I have added the correct tags to this

Did you get any reply or solution? I am facing the exact problem but don’t know the solution

Hi. I did not get a response on this forum, however i went on discord and asked one of the communities I am part of and did get an answer.

There is a solution, but it would probably be best if I show pictures of what to do and I am not at my computer right now. I will get back to you soon with those.

Thanks buddy. Will wait for the pics.

Best

The first thing you need to do is go into the keyboard settings and assign a movement on the throttle slider to decrease throttle. It won’t let you actually assign the slider axis to this, but next time you go into your joystick profile there should be an option in power management for decrease throttle.

You now need to open the Thrustmaster control panel for the joystick and select mode 2 for the slider. Now open the decrease throttle in power management for the joystick and select button 17 under ‘select an input’.

When you press validate, when you next fly an aircraft the joystick should be the right way round.

Hope this helps you.

For the sliders on the joystick, are you using the throttles as axes or as button presses? If axes, the definitely need to click “reverse axis” tick box if they are going the opposite way you are expecting. If you need help with the TR setup on the axis, let me know. I can help with that since the axis itself actually emulates a key press when slid fully down (button 17).

I set Button 17 to Reduce Thrust in the time I hadn’t yet purchased a dedicated throttle quadrant. My Logitech/Saitek is configured the same way. When the Power lever hits the bottom of the axis travel, I can snap it into a slot which corresponds to Reduce Thrust and acts as if I am holding down the F2 button. I snap it out of the slot, and we’re in the bottom of the Idle range.

Hello
With me what happens is very strange. The joystick was working normal without any problems. Suddenly i runned X-PLane 11 and the throtlle comes with strange behavier. Instead in maximum it begins reducing the throttle then lost of power…then lunched FS2020 and the same behavior…I can´t put maximum power…Well i folloewd the procedures above and the option "DEcrerase throttle does not apear… THe throttle is in full work but in reverse axis…can anyone help? I have installed the latest Thrustmaster drivers. Thanks in Advance
