I’ve seen some old posts on this topic, but nothing I could respond to. Everything worked fine for the longest time, and once the new patch came out, the unit would lock up and not respond. As with most bugs, it would happen intermittently. My fix is to unplug it and plug it back in again…and we know what happens when I do that! The stick works again, but my flight is entirely ruined by the time I gain back control.
I’ve noticed that it happens routinely if if switching cameras frequently.
These kinds of things driven me clean out of my mind.
Yeah, could be. Idk anymore tbh. Like someone else said…maybe we should stop digging around in our consoles/PCs and perhaps come to the realization that something external is causing all this…
XBox or PC? I know that if you are on XBox then it sometimes seems to matter which USB socket you use (also preferrably no USB splitters or cables+splitters)
Other things to check are that your switch on the back of the Hotas One is set to your platform so either XBox or PC. Also create a new default profile for it rather than a customised one and see if things improve. I’m on PC but used to be on XBox so have used it on both platforms. My Hotas One is fine and I’ve not seen any issues with any of the updates.
Also if you suspect a hardware malfunction with the stick, Thrustmaster always suggest testing it on a PC by downloading the thrustmaster drivers and checking axis and button function with that software.
Well you never know, but there doesn’t seem to be many other posts in here on this.
So it doesn’t seem like a widespread issue.
If you have the rolling cache enabled, try deleting it, and if you have addons in your community folder, are any related to views?
I was going to suggest maybe an issue with your controller, or USB port but I see that has been suggested.
Could it be related to any “sleep” function on the USB port?
From memory I had my hotas via a 3m USB extension plugged into a rear USB socket. It shouldn’t matter but I’ve read other comments on threads many months ago about different experiences depending on the USB socket they use.
What is tremendously frustrating about this issue is it was introduced with SU7 and it affected me on the very first flight and subsequent flights for nearly 8 hours of that day until I figured it out, and yet it isn’t on the known issues list.
Sorry to bother you, my man…but you’ll need to break this down for me as to what I have to do exactly to fix this. I’ve read the post a dozen times and I’m not quite sure what I need to do. I go into my Hotas controller config screen on Xbox and disable the hat switch and assign it to do something else?
Ok. Here’s what I’ve got for my “hat” settings on the Hotas One:
Under Cockpit Camera:
• Reset Cockpit View: F2 (button to the right of hat)
• Cockpit Look Up Right: Joystick POV Up_Right (hat diagonal up to the right)
• Cockpit Look Up Left: Joystick POV Up_Left (hat diagonal up to the left)
• Cockpit Look Up: Joystick POV Up (hat up)
• Cockpit Look Right: Joystick POV Right (hat right)
• Cockpit Look Left: Joystick POV Left (hat left)
• Cockpit Look Down Right: Joystick POV Down_Right (hat diagonal down to the right)
• Cockpit Look Down Left: Joystick POV Down_Left (hat diagonal down to the left)
• Cockpit Lootk Down: Joystick POV Down (hat down)
Now, I use F1 (the trigger on the flight stick) as a “shift” button. This allows me to double the effective use of each of the buttons on the Hotas setup.
Under Cockpit View:
• Cockpit View Upper (this is replacing Next Pilot Position the keybind linked to the bug): F1 + Joystick POV Up
• Previous Pilot Position: F1 + Joystick POV Down
Under Instrument Views:
• Previous Instrument View: F1 + Joystick POV Left
• Next Instrument View: F1 + Joystick POV Right
Alight, so when you press F1 + Hat down (once or twice depending on your current view) you will be in Instrument View and then you use F1 + hat left or right to cycle between those views.
You press F2 to reset your view, you can the press F1 + hat up to see up and over the instrument panel.
