Thrustmaster pedals problem

Thrustmaster pedals the brakes do not seem to work they work ok in other sims and show up ok in Windows.

Here are my settings for the pedals I have the T RUDDER PROFILE

BRAKES LEFT-L-AXIS Y
BRAKES RIGHT-L-AXIS X.

The rudder works ok with Joystick L-AXIS Z

What aircraft have independent foot brakes so I may test.

These are my TFRP Brake bindings. I notice a couple of things from what you have shared with your current set-up:

  • You don’t want to use the Brakes Left / Right commands. You should use Left Brake Axis and Right Brake Axis. The Axis commands are “linear” and will apply the Brakes proportionately as you press the pedals. The standard Brakes commands are “binary” and will only apply 0% or 100%. Make sure you clear your current Brakes bindings first or you will end up with multiple commands mapped to the same inputs.
  • I have always had to Reverse the Brakes bindings. You will know if this is correct by observing the indicator bars below each binding as you actually apply Brakes.
  • It is always easier to use “Search By Input” to identify the correct input on a controller when you set up bindings. This will identify the input as you physically activate the input (press the Brake Pedal). Using the “Select An Input” drop down list is pretty hit or miss! Just open the bindings window for the correct Brake Axis command, click on the “Search By Input” box and then physically move the correct Brake pedal. Make sure not to move the rudder pedal instead. Remember to “Validate” and then “Apply & Save” when you are done.

If this doesn’t work for you let me know and we’ll try to figure it out. Rick

my pedals are not working at all. when i hit the pedals nothing happens on the inside of the plane or the outside. would anyone happen to know the problem.

Are you also using Thrustmaster pedals or something else? There are a lot of detailed threads in the Peripherals Self-Help part of the Forum that cover almost every possible piece of hardware.

To try to help you get up and running, first go to Options > Controls and click on your Pedals in the list of the controllers at the top of the screen. If there are no commands (bindings) configured in the middle part of the screen, then you will need to set them up manually.

If you are using Thrustmaster pedals, see my reply above and also at this thread. The Default Profile for the Thrustmaster pedals doesn’t work in this version of the sim! Setting up a new clean set of bindings is pretty quick and easy.
Thrustmaster Pedals Not Working

Go into options and turn assists off.

Thanks so much got it! Needed to change the controls. I hope this isn’t the case when I get my throttle and joystick haha.

Hi thanks for reply from your screen shot I have the same as you when I press the brakes the bar come across to show what is working, but I do not get any brakes in the plane. Some one says turn off assists in ASSISTANCE PILOTING I have all ticked off.

Same way mine are set up and they work fine!

Have it sorted I just ticked the reverse axis box and all is working ok.

Excellent! Have fun flying

I had the same issue and to fix it I created a new profile, the default one for these pedals does not work.

Thanks for reply, when you say you created a new profile how did you do it in the sim ?

In the controller section of Flight Sim make sure default profile is showing for the rudders and change the settings for each action, rudder left, right and toe breaks . You will be asked to save the new profile, I just used the suggested name. When changing each setting, click on the search button and physically do the action on the controller for it to be recognised. Sorry, didn’t see post above. It explains it better than I can.

Hello, I just noticed that my Thrustmaster rudder pedals are showing a strange behavior with the brake axis. When I don’t press them at all, the axis shows no activity, but as soon as I start pressing, it starts the axis in the middle and then goes to 100% as I continue to press till the end of the movement.

Shouldn’t they be starting at 0 and progressively go to 100% instead, like other axises?

Hey guys,

I have the same issue but cant fix it. Even if I follow your instructions it doesnt work for me and I cant use the Pedals as usual. Before a few months it worked perfecty. I got new firmware, reinstalled every driver and the MS aswell, but nothing worked. Im a little bit frustrated and rlly hope for any help.

Thank you guys!

Purchased a set of Turtal Beach Velocity one pedals they are so good junked the Thrustmaster ones and glad I did.

I’m really stuck with a problem with a set of brand new ThrustmasterTFRP Rudder Brake pedals, used with the Fenix A320. I had the same problem with an earlier unit, which on the advice of TM customer support I returned because they said it was faulty!!
The problem is with the brakes. They’re set up I believe correctly in MSFS Control Options, with the Right Brake Axis to Joystick L-Axis X, and the Left Brake Axis to Joystick L-Axis Y. Both ticked Reverse Axis. In this configuration the aircraft brakes are ON (yes, parking brake off), but the brakes come OFF when I push both pedals. In other words, they are reversed. However if I untick the Reverse Axis boxes (and Apply&Save) the situation is worse, because the brakes are then ON, with pedals pushed or not. I have installed the latest TM driver, and also attempted to do the TM calibration via Control Panel / Devices / T-Rudder Games Controller, albeit a very unsatisfactory test, obviously not designed for the Brakes.
I’ve also searched fot UT videos, but none seem to cover my requirement. Anyone any ideas, please?

I believe I’ve solved the problem. All I did was swap the the 3 devices’ USB plugs around in different sockets in my PC, very strange. And the other odd thing is that they are set up in Control Options, with the Right Brake Axis to Joystick L-Axis X, and the Left Brake Axis to Joystick L-Axis Y, but this time with the Reverse Axis UN-ticked! This is opposite to what I’ve read that they should be ticked. Hmmm.
