Thrustmaster t.flight hotas one Xbox Series X Flaps Issues

Hi - this is my first posting so I hope I’m doing it right!

I’ve been flying for a month or so on the Xbox series X using the standard controller (Game Pass Game of the Year edition). For christmas I received a logitech G920 Hotas. Works out the box but I’m having a strange issue with the flaps. If I start any aircraft from cold and dark on a ramp, etc. then no issues at all. But if I start a flight on a runway with the engine already running the flaps default to 10 degrees. I can change the flaps but they always move straight back to 10 degrees.

This happens both on the default mapping and on a mapping I created for myself. I can confirm that there is no issue of conflicting mappings with the buttons.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as, at times, it would be nice to start on the runway for a quick flight without having to go through the whole startup / taxi malarkey!

Thanks for any comments or advice you can give this newbie!

But… Logitech G920 is a steering wheel?

Doh!!! You are, of course, 100% correct. We got one of those as well :joy: It’s the Thrustmaster t.flight hotas one.

How embarrassing - sorry!

Hello there !

My father and I noticed this problem too in the 1st training session with the CESSNA A172 SKYHAWK where you would take off from KSEZ

Begining the session, flaps were already out at 10°.

I was telling myself the plane was low to get speed for take off then I realize flaps were out which is strange.

I did not had this bug again constantly however, I just had to restart training.

Cheers,

I’ve got the Hotas One and the TFRP pedals and use them with the Xbox controller and I do not have these issues at all.

First. Starting on the runway means the aircraft is powered and ready to go.

Starting cold and dark means that if you haven’t started the aircraft’s systems, the flaps may not be operational if they are electric or hydraulic — just something to check on.

Are you using assistances? I don’t use any. I’m wondering if there is some AI or autopilot something or other interfering with your flaps.

I’ve got the two buttons on the forward side of the throttle set for flaps up (upper) and down (lower). I’m not near the throttle, so I can’t tell you the button numbers, but they are on the forward side that you manipulate with your index finger and not the A, B, X, Y side.

Which do you have mapped?

EDIT: hmm…I just reread your OP and realized I got your issue flip flopped. Weird. It works when starting cold and dark, but not when on the runway?
