So after the hullaballoos of being a new flight simmer configuring Thrustmaster controllers, I found on forum the easy way to transfer configurations, was to have both 2020 and 2024 open and copy across.
New problem for 2024… I use Cirrus SR22, so pretty basic GA.
After releasing the park brake, left and right brake appear to be ‘activated’. With full throttle, the aircraft ‘can’ move forward, but only to around 20 kts without input. I have to press both brakes about 15-20% to ‘release’ the brakes. Which as you can imaging is extremely difficult to steer on taxi/take-off roll to reach take-off speed. Obviously not how it is supposed to function. As soon as I am off the runway, the rudder controls function as expected. So it’s just the left/right brake axis config that the problem as far as I can tell.
I had the same issue. My Airbus Quadrant had Parking Brake ON, so it didn’t let me release using mouse. So make sure you don’t have conflicting inputs. This is what I had.
Also some of my issues have been that I have also TWCS Throttle and there were some conflicting key mappings.
I have worked out the park brake. I put the binding in the left and the right box and it worked fine (I actually have no idea what the binding boxes mean). A lot of trial and error.
I’ve just had so much trial without result on this left/right brake axis.
As for conflicts? I assume that the little number in the top right of the binding box represents a conflict?
Over 10 months. I’ve had no fix. No advice. I’ve used forums and AI. Best I came up with was an ‘atomic reset’ deleting the saftware and system files for a full wipe and reinstall. That did not fix it either. My next point of action was testing with another brand (X-plane) but have not gotten around to it yet
I wish i can help i don’t use rudder peddles , however this might be a stupid question but when you control the rudder does the trim also change for the elevator ?
Is it just this aircraft that does it? Sounds like the strangest thing ever. I’ve noticed that the brake pedals do respond differently in 2024 than they do in 2020. In 2020, they react through the whole axis however on 24, they do nothing until you are half way through the movement and then they suddenly react and quite sharply. Someone posted this which I updated mine to be and it seems to work quite well. Not sure if it will fix your issues but maybe worth a shot as it works for me on the TFRP
I found a fix for mine after 2 days of getting frustrated and wasting my time. The fix was to go on Amazon plop down $380 on the honeycomb Charlie rudder pedals. They just came in. I installed them and I just took my first flight. My goodness. What a reminder to spend the money and cry once . Unlike me ….lol sorry guys I’m being cheeky but it’s very frustrating to see this issue reported all over the Internet and yet no fix. Take my word for it. Go get yourself a good set of Rudder pedals and enjoy your simulator instead of spending time on these forums, typing away in frustration.
I do however do my actual flight training in a cirrus sr20. So the airbus controllers were more suitable my needs for the sim at home.
Frustration… I purchased a $5000 PC because I wanted to kind of future proof my needs for the processor and graphics. The thrustmaster controllers, a unit to control the PFD/MFD from Germany. Even VR to get the most immersive experience (out side of the plane) and it runs out, because of this issue… I now have a close to $7000 Xbox. How’s that for frustrating!!
