Thrustmaster TCA Airbus edition throttle configuration for C208 Grand Caravan EX

Out of the box I do not know what any of the buttons are mapped to - is there an easy way to find out?

The thrust reverser does not work for any of the planes I have tried.

First detent, 1/3 of the way up gives me toga power on C208, and causes engine damage on the firefighting plane. So, effectively, only 1/4 of the throttle range is useful for anything. I would like more of the throttle to be useful.

Have any of you managed to configure it to be more useful? Please post back how.

I am also curious on this topic. Havent managed it. Would’ve been great, if the profiles could be transferred from 20 to 24 seamlessly.

Kind regards.

I have the same issue. Throttle works surprisingly fine in the Cessna but not in any other plane. Also that the flaps are always out when I load into the flight - doesn‘t matter on the ground or air :smiling_face_with_tear:

The most passenger jets are unable to fly with Thrustmaster Airbus. One engine on 100 other on 0, flaps are ignored as well as landing gear. UHHHHH. What a mess. If i change settings nothing is changed. Small planes are working fine. But Airbus etc, special on land challenges are rotten

The flap axis seems to be inverted by default, this can be changed. And the in-game position sticks to your physical device axis position

There is difference between Airbus and other planes. Default it is set to

Throttle 1 Axis 0 - 100%
Throttle 2 Axis 0 - 100%

If you’re throttle is not working for a specific, try creating a new profile for that plane, then remap to this setting:

Throttle Axis 1
Throttle Axis 2

These are default settings for 2020, but 2024 remapped some buttons, so it’s best to open Windows Game Controllers, when you click some button, it will highlight active key number. Well, you could also scan active input in the game, press button, then see button number.
Then based on the picture, search for the text of the function and assign that key number.

So create a general profile, map everything and apply to all aircraft.
Then for specific aircraft you can press G, or click on window above to open Aircraft you want, and if controls are different, duplicate existing profile and apply changes (most likely throttle ones). I did that for Airbus ones, duplicate General, then modify and apply only to a330 and a320

I also have a few custom bindings:

  • Button 25 to the disarm autobrake, but default it should be 22, but this was more convenient for me
  • Toggle Arm Spoilers I binded to 5, that is not default but Autopilot ON
  • Set Altimeter 6
As I add more custom planes, I might do additional changes with new profiles.

General profile:
Arm Auto Throttle - 1
Disarm Autobrake - 25
Set Autobrake Hi - 26
Set Autobrake Low - 23
Set Autobrake Low - 24
Set Parking Brake - 20
Flaps Axis - LAXIS Z (Set inverted axis)
Spoilers Axis - RAXIS Z (Set inverted axis)
Toggle Arm Spoilers - 5 (Custom binding)
Rudder Trim Left - 18
Reset Rudder Trip - 17
Rudder Trim Right - 19
Rudder Axis - Slider X
Set Engine Master 1 - 3
Set Engine 1 Fuel Valve - 4
Set Starer 1 - 3
Set Engine Master 2 - 4
Set Engine 2 Fuel Valve - 4
Set Starer 2 - 4
Set Engine Crank Mode - 7
Set IGN/Start Mode - 8
Set Engine Norm mode - 7 (check “Set control on Release”)
Set Altimeter - 6 (Custom binding)
Gear Down - 21 (check “Set control on Release”)
Gear UP - 21
Throttle Axis 1 - LAXIS X
Throttle Axis 2 - LAXIS Y

Airbus profile:
Everything the same, just remove Throttle Axis and map
Throttle 1 Axis (0 to 100%) - LAXIS X (Set inverted axis)
Throttle 2 Axis (0 to 100%) - LAXIS Y (Set inverted axis)

Of course after creating a profile for Airbus, you need to do Calibration in the Tablet. Also, for each variation (-200, -300) you need to manually assign the profile because it will use default one.

wow
 hope i understand all
thx

I am still struggling getting the reverse thrust and prop feathering configured on the C208.

The spoiler lever has a detent at max and min position, and so generates a click at every one of those, including the extremities, so I was able to re-purpose it as the condition lever. However the two throttle levers do not generate a button press at max and min, only at detents, and so I am so far unable to bind it in a way that makes use of the reverse thrust. Moving the physical throttle into reverse position currently allows me to move the virtual throttle from idle into beta range instead. Likewise with me repurposing the second throttle lever as the prop lever - I would like to use the reverse range of the physical throttle to feather the prop, but it does not reach that far.

Is there any way for me to configure my physical levers to mimic the full range of the virtual levers?

I am done with this company. When I try FS for the 20th time, I still run into the same problems. I have already made many complaints in forums but nowhere do you get an answer from these guys. FS24 is not made for XBox.

I want my money back!!!

Hi, I think I found the correct setting for XBOX and TCA Airbus Throttle and Grand Caravan

  • Cessna 208B Grand Caravan
  • Thrustmaster TCA Captain Pack X Airbus
  • XBox

Instead of mapping the axis „Throttle 1 Axis“ or „Throttle 1 Axis (0 to 100%)“ I mapped “Throttle Set“

This is what works for me:
THROTTLE SET = JOYSTICK AXIS 5
Set inverted axis = YES

Tweak action curve:
Sensitivity + = 0
Sensitivity - = 0.9
Neutral = -0.85
Dead zone = 0
Extremity Dead Zone = 0

PROPELLER SET = JOYSTICK AXIS 8
Set inverted axis = YES

Tweak action curve:
Sensitivity + = 0.3
Sensitivity - = -0.5
Neutral = -0.5
Dead zone = 0
Extremity Dead Zone = 0

Now the „0“ position is Ground Idle and when I open the „stopper“ (or whatever its called) and push the lever down I am getting reverse thrust

You sir are a scholar and a gentleman!

THROTTLE SET and PROPELLER SET are indeed the correct axis to bind for good results. I did not need to set inverted axis for mine, and I left sensitivity alone, instead setting the following neutral positions, for mostly the same results.

The bottom of my throttle still ends up in the beta range, but now I can push it further back to get reverse.

i may be going mad, but i can’t find a THROTTLE SET bind anywhere in the T.A320 Quadrant controls.

there’s

  • THROTTLE AXIS
  • THROTTLE 1
4 AXIS
  • THROTTLE 1
4 AXIS (0 to 100%)

but no THROTTLE SET axis anywhere.

EDIT: never mind. this is what i did.

now, the throttle aligns nearly perfectly with the flight idle detent, and i can activate the reverser levers and pull down into beta/reverse thrust.

thanks for sharing your solution!

i wish i knew which settings were saved to “Specific [insert aeroplane name] controls” and which are saved to “Airplanes controls”. very unclear, but that’s Asobo!

It does not seem to be listed anywhere, you find it by searching for it. Cool that you found another solution!

maybe it’s a localization issue?

Could well be. I am some variant of English, either English (Germany), English (UK), or English (United States) - it is a little hard to tell.

do you also have AXIS (0 to 100%)? if not, maybe it’s called THROTTLE SET in your localization.

I do not!

For numbered throttles I do have this though:

that’s what it is then.

this method works really well, and i just loaded up the Pilatus and found that the exact same setting also works with its reverse gate.

furthermore, setting Sensitivity + to 0.55 aligns the topmost detent with the Pilatus MCP marking (Maximum Continuous Power).

very nice.
