Thrustmaster Throttle Hardware bindings are incorrectly identified in the Settings>Controls>Profiles boxe in MSFS-2024. This prevents me from flying with these controllers in MSFS-2024. Both the Hotas X throttle and TWCS throttle in the T.16000M combo are affected. The throttle hardware binding lists show buttons and axes for the joystick, not the throttle. Both of these throttles, which I use, are identified and work fine in MSFS-2020. The joysticks are identified and listed correctly, but due to the errors in the throttle binding lists in MSFS-2024, I cannot fly a plane in MSFS-2024 correctly. This is not airplane dependent. It is not fixable by creating a new profile for the throttle, which I have done. Examples:
Picture1 shows the Devices list, which is the MSFS-2024 default. Picture2 shows the hardware list for the TWCS throttle, which is totally incorrect, as it is in reality a part of the hardware list for the T.16000M joystick. I suspect this situation is similar to others who have posted similar hardware issues. Picture3 is a repro from the TWCS throttle manual which also gives my intentions for using it, followed by a list of my intentions for using the TWCS throttle. But due to the conflict, I can’t. Please fix.
I had this throttle working fine in 2024 before I changed my setup around. I was using a vkb gladiator stick though. Perhaps there is some conflict specific to using the two Thrustmaster products together. Or a problem with the stick specifically. I’d suggest checking for updated TM drivers and, if there is nothing doing there, loading the game with only one plugged in at a time to see if you can assign that way.
Edit: Specifically, I had the TWCS and was using it without issue.
To HLRBubba:
I bought the HotasX controller when I got MSFS-2020 a couple years ago to run on my desktop, and it worked fine. About a year ago I bought the T.16000M/TWCS controller to get the increased resolution and features, while still flying MSFS-2020. Worked fine. At that time, I moved the HotasX to my new Legion laptop, which also runs MSFS-2020. It works fine there. When I first installed MSFS-2024 on my desktop, with that crazy controls interface, I noticed that the hardware bindings for the TWCS did not match the attributes of the throttle. There should be 14 buttons listed, but there are none. Please notice my TWCS profile I sent in my request, and tell me if your binding list for your TWCS had the 14 buttons listed, if you remember. I switched back to the HotasX on my desktop to see if it worked, and it did, but of course without the added features. I never had both controllers connected at once.
It did have the same configuration. I made a template back when I set it up in 2020, I’ll see if I still have it.
I just set up my own bindings in 2024 and don’t recall ever looking at the default configuration, but that does seem very odd. Almost like it is seeing all, or maybe just some, of the hats as axes and not 4 way buttons. Have you checked the throttle in the Thrustmaster Target program? It is possible that testing it there could tell you something.
I hope you have found your configuration, because I am at a loss. I downloaded and tried to make some sense out of T.A.R.G.E.T GUI but could not. It was asking me for the name and location of my file (I assume it meant the .exe and the directory where it was located plus other things, but I could not find them. I had done it in 2020, but they are in a different location in 2024. I know the location for 2024 is in \Xbox but what I looked for wasn’t there. The main problem is that 2024 is assigning different function names or numbers than what are on the controllers. I also reconnected my old Hotas X and 2024 does not list those controller functions correctly either. I tried to clear all assignments from my custom profiles, but can’t do that either.
