Thrustmaster TWCS throttle works in settings but not in simulator

This is a maddening issue which started this evening after a long absence from playing the game.
I have a Thrustmaster TWCS which I have used without issue in MSFS in the past, but I haven’t played the game in a while.
The problem: while in the simulator (e.g. in an airplane on the runway) the game no longer responds to throttle changes on the TWCS. When I go to controller setup in the game, I can see the throttle axis is correctly mapped and the settings screen is showing appropriate changing values when I move the throttle. There is nothing wrong with the hardware, from what I can see. I have deleted the TWCS control profile and created a new one (and remapped the axis control); have tried changing USB ports as well as restarting the computer. None of this solves the issue. I do not see any conflicting input mappings. Buttons on the TWCS which have been mapped in MSFS work fine. The throttle inputs work fine when I use the controller in DCS World. I’m completely stumped. Tempted to uninstall/reinstall MSFS but that feels like the “nuclear” option and who knows if this would fix the issue. Looking for any suggestions (I tried running DIView and it looks AOK there).

Check your other hardware that you have connected, this includes keyboard, mouse, gamepad, etc. and make sure you only have 1 hardware source bound to your throttle control. This is to eliminate conflicting issue where you have multiple hardware feeding the sim with the same command.

Thanks, I have checked this and only this one axis from TWCS is mapped to the throttle in the game… no other hardware is mapped to the throttle.

Which specific throttle axis do you have mapped?

You said you haven’t played in a while, and the most recent updates have changed throttle mapping such that you need to map “throttle axis 1”, “throttle axis 2”, etc… to your lever(s). Mapping the generic “throttle axis” doesn’t work like it used to.

I have the TWCS throttle axis mapped here:
Power Management > Throttle > Throttle Axis

Right. Change that to “Throttle Axis 1” and then go fly

Let me reorder that: “Throttle 1 Axis”

NOW go fly :+1:

Krikey… thank you!!!
