Tip: How to get your gauges on your Tablet or other monitor

You can hold down the RIGHT ALT key and click on any gauge or instrument in the cockpit to open in in a new window. Then you can drag that window wherever you like.

I also found a little gem called spacedesk (freeware) in which you place the Spacedesk server on your PC then the app on either you android or Ipad etc. This turns your tablet or Ipad into another monitor for your PC. I have 3 tablets so I took different instruments on the plane I fly and placed them on each tablet. Very low FPS hit and seems to communicate well with the PC. The other nice thing is if you have things that use the mouse it is now touch as you just touch your tablet screen.

Unfortunately this does not work with switch panels.

Hope this is helpful.

Yup. Spacedesk is da shiznit as far as I’m concerned. I have both an iPad and an Android tablet mounted on top of my yoke and Logitech AP panels with 3D printed mounts. Both run Spacedesk without issue. Makes for a great view of my PFD and MFD.

Honestly I didn’t think Spacedesk was going to be easy to install on my system, as my mobo does not currently have wifi, nor do I have a home network set up via the wifi-router. But as I have a very old android Google Nexus 10, I gave it a go and it worked without any setup headaches whatsoever. Seriously impressed.

I had the switches and suto pilot etc but I found a program called SimDashboard and bought 3 cheap tablets from walmart. SimDashboard lets you install gauge panels for many games into the tablet so it is all touch screen like Star Trek lol The only issue with SimDashboard is to unlock the features you have to unlock per game. I think it was $9 for flight sim but was more than worth it.

How did you get the whole g1000 to come out mine only does the screen?

I see in the photo that the PFD has been passed to the tablet including the frame with the keypads of the Garmin 1000. I would appreciate it if you could tell me how you did it, since I can only extract the glass part of PFD and MFD without the frame. Thanks in advance.JB

Maybe I am missing something. I have space deck installed on my pc and tablet. All I can tell is the spacedeck is just copying my primary screen. I pop out a panel and on my tablet it shows the pop out, but it is the same as my primary screen. So when I move the pop out off my main screen, it moves of the tablet. Help please.
