Got it running pretty good. Everything looks great on my pimax 8kx vr headset. But when i look at the fps and if it’s the gpu or cpu bottleneck I find it’s the CPU. Does anybody know what settings one could disable to lower cpu usage in the game?
Generally I have found Terrain Level of Detail and Objects Level of Detail to be the most CPU intensive settings. I am on a 6700k and had to lower them both to 75, any higher would cause a CPU bottleneck inducing spikes and a stutter.
Of course if you have a newer CPU you can probably set these higher than mine but this is the first place I would start to remove a CPU bottleneck.
Awesome. Thank you i will give this a try.
Try disabling ai traffic as well
Biggest thing i’ve noticed so far in helping cpu is just jumping in a simple aerobatic airplane. They have significantly less cpu usage. Jump in a private jet and it’s kinda bad. Private jets external view is much better. But once you jump inside the jets cpu usage skyrockets.
CPU usage for me still an issue in VR when flying in urban environment (photogrammetry). CPU was constant 100 percent and causes (micro)stutters. For me what helped against the stuttering was setting my CPU to background process so that there was also CPU for other programs that need it. This has boosted VR experience so much in urban environment (before I could not fly cities)! My CPU is not the newest i7 2600K (OC 4,2 Ghz)
Think this is a bug because why would MSFS take so much CPU that it makes the computer not work to its potential…
