Signing out and in shouldn’t wipe the settings. Best thing to do is make a bug report about that.
One thing we do know for certain is that there are still many bugs in the sim itself. In every sim update, there is a line in the release notes saying they have “fixed” some causes of CTDs. Surely no-one believes Asobo have now found them all. Looking in the forums at all the other problems users are having (low fps, disconnecting from the server etc.), there are also many bugs affecting performance which Asobo say they are “looking into”.
Certainly Asobo do have an uphill task making sure the sim is compatible with all the various computer systems in use, considering the number of different CPUs, video cards, memories etc. tbh, they did not make their lives easier by including VR & XBox etc. in the mix. And DX12 and DLSS will bring their own problems in the future.
So even if my problem is not “100%” fixed, I believe that the root cause most likely is at Asobo’s end (in the sim), or due to MS (in the server). I have a sim which is functional although by no means perfect (stutters, ATC etc.). My computer has no problems in my other apps, so why would I waste my time and risk disturbing the reliability of my system trying to cure non-existent symptoms, which I won’t know if they’re fixed? I’ve more important problems to worry about than chasing rainbows.
Yes, there are still (many) bugs, with some more critical then others.
But a lot of of the times if there are fps problems it is some setting that can drop your fps from 40 to 10 if it is set too high (like my example here ) because some 1-100 value doesn’t mean anything without context.. 20 or 550 (animated) AI planes is a BIG difference.
An update for Windows/store app, or a driver could also be a problem. Many people have no clue what to do on a pc and just install everything without knowing what is actually installed/running on their pc.
Anyway, it’s always a good thing to report the issues to Asobo so they atleast know what’s going on.
