So I have a multi monitor set up (7 screens consisting of 3 main monitors using MSFS experimental multi monitor), an overhead monitor for navigraph and 3 touch screens for garmin instruments. Works great. I decided to try a Tobii eye tracker (not for eye tracking but for head tracking) and already have a Trak Ir which I like but the idea of ditching the hat sounded appealing. I did the Tobii setup on the base software from Tobii and also used the alpha add-on software they now have for when the tracker is not directly under the monitor. I can’t get the Tobii to always use my main monitor in front of me for tracking. When I turn my head it shows the tracking and image movement on a side monitor. I’ve deleted and re-installed several times, and have totally uninstalled the Trakir5 which can conflict with the Tobii. I sent a support ticket tot Tobii and they are of no help and simply pointed to an article saying the Tobii works with multi monitor and to try the install again. Anybody here have a Tobii with multi monitor and did the setup work well and is it still working where it tracks your head movement and changed the image on your center monitor in MSFS?
I have a Tobii 5. I have 2 monitors (4 if you count the virtual displays on the 2 iPads below the main monitor. My head tracking is confined to the main monitor.
When I did the initial calibration routine, the tracking limits were confined to the main monitor (32" monitor, with the tracker module 30" from my eyes.)
Could it be that you are sitting much further away from the monitor, and the tracker is being fooled into thinking your main monitor is much larger than it is?
Possible yes. I’m 36” away from the main large screen monitor but I moved the tracker closer to me and used the alpha software they have to setup the tracker if it’s not under the monitor. I’ll try it again and maybe turn off my side monitors so there are fewer monitors in windows display/device manager that are active and see if that helps.
Hi
I have exactly the same problem (2 monitors, alpha-add on software). DId you manage to resolve it?
Thanks!
I did solve it. I had to disable (in windows device manager) the igpu (on my amd cpu) I was using for a 4th overhead monitor and also disable the 2nd GPU I have installed for 3 touch screens. I then uninstalled the Tobii completely to wipe out any settings that might have been a problem. Reinstalled and it worked great and stayed configured even after I turned back on my igpu and 2nd GPU. I let the support team at Tobii know so they could maybe update the install instructions for those users with multiple gpus or an igpu that is active in bios.
