Tobii tracking goes haywire when I look away from the main monitor

 Thank you for using the Bug section, using templates provided will greatly help the team reproducing the issue and ease the process of fixing it.

Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it?

No

Have you disabled/removed all your mods and addons? If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the Community Support section.

No. Disabling/removing mods will make no difference. I donā€™t need to test that to know.

Brief description of the issue:

Tobii users have a problem with the way Asobo handles eye/head tracking. When the userā€™s gaze goes outside the boundaries set in Tobii Experience (such as when looking down at controls) the cockpit view goes haywire.

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

I posted a feature request on the Tobii Discord asking them to freeze the view when I look away from my main monitor, and was told that, because Asobo integrated Tobii controls into the sim, the sim controls all aspects of the view port.

ā€œAsobo has 100% control over what to do with the data gathered from the eye/headtracker, so if anything is to change, it has to be via Asobo, including any freeze view functionality. Star Citizen users had a similar campaign, and they were successful.ā€

Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

I use opentrack instead of the Asobo default software, and it does it there too. If I turn my head sufficiently far enough to the right that it cannot determine my face anymore, then the view instantly jumps. Oddly for some reason I can turn my heard further to the left than the right before this occurs. No idea why that is. I find Opentrack much smoother, and less jumpy than the Asobo default.

You might want to edit your post to take your text out of the ā€œreplyā€ template as everyone will get that text beginning ā€œI posted a featureā€¦ā€, and move that into the block above instead.

Sorry, Iā€™m confused. Can you screenshot the section youā€™re referring to?
Be gentle, this is my first bug report.

It looks like you have already done that, or a mod did it.

You had a block of text here:

That is the reply template people should use, and your post had some text there which meant everyone would get it by default when pressing the ā€œContribute to this topicā€. That text has now been removed, leaving the template in its vanilla state.

Yep. I got a message from a mod about his edit.

Hopefully this isnā€™t a sort of ā€˜Mandela Effect.ā€™ But this behavior seems to have to have suddenly changed for the better after the SU15 update. WAY betterā€¦

Now, when my head moves outside the trackerā€™s range (like when I get out of the chair) the screen freezes at the last known good viewpoint, then slowly drifts back to being centered. When I get back into position, Iā€™m pretty much right where I need to be.
