Nah, the World Hub was a requested feature - while yes they could spend more time fine-tuning them, it’s not realistic when some airports need a larger overhaul due to another runway/terminal while others are just in an absolute state and need the whole ground redone (EYVI my beloathed)
It’s how it works in the esteemed competitor, and thanks to that crowdsource the base airports vastly overshadow FS’ in most cases
The last thing I recall reading about this is basically that the sim gets its weather data from a proprietary source, MeteoBlue, and presumably MS/Asobo’s contract with MeteoBlue won’t allow them to make the weather data available to anything outside of the base sim… which wouldn’t be surprising, as that’s how proprietary stuff works - the companies that create/provide these things feel the need to keep them as completely locked-down as possible, to protect their work and keep outsiders from reverse-engineering it or otherwise accessing it without approval.
In short, it’s apparent that MS/Asobo can’t open up the weather data/API to anyone else because the company that provides the data won’t allow them to. It’s a sad situation, but clearly there’s nothing that can be done about it.
