Track Ir keeps turning off in the camera panel if the track ir loses connection even briefly for example moving out of line with the ir sensors or using the pause mode (which i often do on long flights)
anyone else having this issue?
Known issue.
ok thank you for that but sadly f12 is no good, the button to enable track IR is being turned off in the camera panel , f12 does nothing but resets the track ir position and that’s not what’s going wrong
here are a couple of videos to show . But your reply did give me an idea so i looked into controls and found it was mappable so created a keyboard shortcut to turn the button back on
You can bind a key in MSFS to re-enable tracking. But that will recenter the camera. So you can’t pause the view without the camera recentering.
It’s a known issue, hopefully they will fix it soon. Currently i stopped using TrackIR because this isn’t working for me.
Thing that floors me the most, it was a known issue PRIOR to release.
i can live with the re centering on pause but i agree sometimes i deliberately pause it off centered
but Track Ir is one i cant live without now
Yeah i use pause to work on the overhead panel or fmc, when i unpause it centers again on my head position. Works great that way. So now there is no point for me to use it.
I’ve done a little app that automatically re-enable TrackIR when the sim disable it:
As i explained on fligfhsim.to [1] the current version is flagged by some antivirus scanner as “compromised”.
This is due to the fact that it’s an unsigned small size executable and scanners heuristics don’t like that.
As the project is open source, you can check the code and compile the binary by yourself or trust me and download the compiled binary on the release section.
What floors me the most is the way Asobo keeps breaking so many things that never had a problem previously when doing updates, it really is fix 2 things break another one at least there is a kinda work around
That happens often in development. Normally you fix these things before release. It seems they just release with all these known issues.
They added support for Tobii eye tracker and that’s probably where something went wrong with Track IR functionality.
Ahh ok i didn’t know they added support for that i was thinking they haven’t been near the track IR how could they break it but that makes more sense
i don’t often criticize but it is deserved here. My track ir was working perfectly using the native controls. Why was it necessary to incorporate the controls into msfs in the first place. Can’t we leave the things that work alone.
Simple math, Tobii eye tracker being functional adds 100% more possible new revenue than breaking TrackIr removes.
Well the Track Ir button has always been there as far as im aware and is just left turned on and has always worked mostly perfectly…until now
I wouldn’t bank on it. I may have invested in addons MS and Asobo can profit from but not when they keep breaking things. I want stability before I spend money adding to the sim.
I just meant it in that 100% more people were waiting on Tobii to be introduced to buy the entire game but overall I imagine many of these issues tighten some purse strings.
I just came back to the sim after a couple of months on pause to find this is now a bug It makes my TrackIR obnoxiously difficult to use as the TrackIR settings is CONSTANTLY turning itself off. I used to manually pause Track IR as I looked at other monitors (movies, etc) during long flights and now that is broken. If I pause TrackIR, MSFS disables it completely. What makes matters worse is that even if I keep from pausing it, as previously mentioned, just breaking the line of sight for a microsecond, results in the same thing…sim turns off the setting completely. For me this is completely game breaking and make the sim no longer enjoyable as every few mins or so, I have to reopen the camera menu and manually turn TrackIR back on. Please fix this as soon as possible, I was hoping to fly for Christmas but this REALLY puts me off
You can still fly for Christmas. Use Ctrl+H to toggle head tracking. If you want to use the same key/button to disable/start TrackIR as before, disable the hotkey in the TrackIR app before assigning the key/button in MSFS controls options, camera, head tracking.
Thank you Poroot! Your app works fine for me.
Great, happy to see it’s useful
