Track ir will not work at all! Plz Help!

My Track IR5 will not work at all. The game doesn’t even recognize it. It only shows one green light-left side- and no matter what I try I cannot get it to work.

It works just fine in IL2 Forgotten battles, I don’t know what to do, I am so bummed.

Anyone please help?

TIA!

When did it last work?

Did you check for updates to game profile within the TrackIR software itself? There was one for MSFS 2020 recently.

It never worked. I just bought the game after building a new rig to run it in VR, but want my tracker to work for when I don’t want to deal with the eye strain from vr after a few hours.

Yes, I also did the updates, restarted, and even reinstalled both to the same hardrive alone, I am at a loss what else to do?

My machine is up to date on Windows also.

It works great in Il2…

Oh and I also tried several different usb’s as well.

in case the TrackIR application show you that TrackIR works fine and you select the msfs2020 profile too and it will still not work in msfs, then try the “old trick” … go into flight, open camera menu, check whether “IR” is enabled.

Hi there,

it is the same for me. Often it works. But sometimes not. It may be the same problem as with the Logitech controllers. It’s also the USB ports. Either the USB power management or the USB version. Logitech says there are problems with newer USB versions.

Regards

Moved to #self-service:peripherals as it’s not clear that this is a sim-side defect.

TrackIR in generally works… In case you have sometime connection lost and you assume its usb-powermanagent, then you can disable it in ext. energy options.

Same thing has happened to me over the past month. I’m using the TrackClipPro. What has worked for me when this happens, is to select TrackClip under Tracking Target (under Basic Settings), then switch back to the TrackClipPro. Try it and see if switching the target works for you.

This has no effect for me.

What’s the Logitech problem, or better the solution? This is so irritating. I can’t fly without TrackIR. I just unchecked allow computer to put device to sleep to save power for all my USB devices.

you have tried the in-game setting in camera menu ? I have still no issues with Track-IR (5).

I have tried toggle head tracking and all. It doesn’t even light up like it does for il2.

I guess I’m SOL.

to be sure: which version of TrackIR application you have installed ?

The latest on the natural point site. I also tried older versions as well.

I found the problem. Apparently when I hit update it wasn’t actually downloading the update from the server at Natural point when I was using my VPN.

I turned off my VPN and hit update games in the track ir software and it worked when I started MSFS.

Woohoo!!
Thanks for trying!

I had a similar problem and I tried all the recommended fixes to no avail. Track IR worked with XPlane 11 but not with MSFS2020. Everyone kept saying that TIR has to be running before FS2020, which it was. But it occured to me that on my PC, at some point I had to install an Xbox application. I can either start FS202 directly (from pinned toolbar icon) or first start Xbox app and then launch FS2020 within that. Normally I don’t bother with Xbox app. But decided to try. With Track IR already running, then start Xbox app, and then launch FS2020 from XBox app.

That works.
