Track your Honeycomb Throttle on its Flight from Hong Kong to USA!

Hi everyone, if you were one of the lucky ones that received a first-week production of the Honeycomb Throttle Quadrant, you can actually track the flight from Hong Kong to Memphis (with a stop in Anchorage).

Once your Fedex Tracking number shows that it has gone to Ta Yuan District TW, you can find the flight by doing a search for Fedex 5986 or using this link: FX5986 (FDX5986) FedEx Flight Tracking and History - FlightAware

Mine is currently in the air! I can’t wait to receive it and I hop[e you all get yours very soon!

I ordered mine from Flight Velocity in January. Hope it is onboard. If not will just wait like the others who purchased there devices.

I believe they said that orders entered through third-party sites would be shipped in the Week 4 production. Have you received a tracking number?

Bryan,
I have not received anything. Oh well, just wait patiently. :grinning:

Hope you get it soon!!!

My tracking number said it arrived in Memphis on Saturday morning. Hope to get an update today.

Hi Bryan,
Any updates on your order?

According to the FedEx app, it actually arrived in Memphis, TN (their main distribution hub) about 10 minutes ago. So it was not in the original flight that I tracked. I can imagine that with the holidays, they have a ton of items to ship from Hong Kong to the US, so it sat in HK for a bit before finally getting into a plane. That flight number still works to track all of FedEx’s flights from HK to Memphis (with a stop in Anchorage), so you can still use it. The tricky part is knowing when your package actually gets put on that flight. Hopefully now that it is in the US, it will clear customs quickly and be easier to track and know when it gets on a plane from Memphis to Miami (my hometown).

That is great news! I wish mine was on it since Flight Velocity is in Fla. We shall see. Hopefully you will have it by the weekend.

Mine is on the delivery truck! Supposed to arrive Monday the 7th, now today! Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

YESSSS, AWESOME!!! Mine was already released by customs! I’m hoping it gets put on a plane to Miami instead of a truck. Delivery date just went from “Pending” to “December 7th” but I’m hoping it arrives sooner like yours!

Let us know if you get it today and what you think of it!

I aspire to get a Throttle Quadrant, too. Alas, I did not put in a pre-order. I don’t want to take this thread off topic (too much) but what I’d like to know is how are folks going to fit all this “stuff” around a desktop. If there is a link to a thread here where folks have photos or diagrams of how they’ve arranged everything that would be great. I almost think to deal with the “stuff,” you need a computer dedicated to gaming. Mine is not. So far, I have a Honeycomb Yoke, Thrustmaster TFRP pedals, TrackIR with TrackClip Pro, Xbox One controller, and then someday with Honeycomb Throttle Quadrant (if you folks give it the thumbs up), it’ll probably take me 10 to 15 minutes to get everything positioned just to run MSFS, so I’ll probably leave my old CH FlightStick attached (but off) for just casually flying around. But even getting set up these days, I’m having trouble finding room for mouse and keyboard with all the other “stuff.” So maybe the OP or someone else in this thread could start another thread on how they’ve put everything in place and put a link to that thread in this one on tracking delivery. My “rig” is on a dining-room-size kitchen table in a large breakfast nook and I have a chair next to one end of the table where all the stuff can go with wires still attached to computer when I’m not using it.

Not a problem at all as the overall topic is about getting ready for the TQ’s arrival.

I actually had to made some modifications to my setup to accommodate the incoming TQ, although I should clarify that I never owned a TQ so I never had to make space for one until now. I attached a picture of my setup below (sorry for the mess… work from home life lol).

You can see the PC to the left behand the monitor (no that is not MSFS, that is a Youtube video of MSFS that I put up as a placeholder for this picture lol, that is why it doesn’t occupy the whole screen), TrackIR above the monitor, the pedals below the desk, the yoke front and center, and the keyboard and mouse to the right (I currently use the keyboard to control throttle input).

The minor modification I had to make is highlighted by the red circles. This is actually a motorized stand-up desk. The control pad that I use to set the height of the desk and which is seen in the circle to the left used to be in the area indicated by the circle on the right. I intend to fit the TQ into the space between the yoke and the white drawer to the right, and I had to move the control pad in order to place the TQ’s clamps.

Once I have the TQ, I anticipate that I will move the keyboard to the left side of the desk as I will have little to no use for it in flight. As for the mouse, I have no clue where I will place it; for now, I will put it wherever it seems most comfortable. However, Honeycomb has stated that it is coming out with an adapter to hold a mouse and tablet underneath the TQ (see second picture), and I’ll probably get that.

Great tip on the possible adapter for the TQ to let the mouse go under it! I see in the instructions for the Honeycomb Yoke that it mentions that on the top of the yoke there are “universal” flight panel mount screws filled with rubber screw plugs by default but I think I’ve maxed out on monitor height and any additional flight panel on top of the yoke would begin to obstruct my view of the lower part of my screen (I’d still put the TQ on my right). And I wonder with yoke and quadrant whether eventually I’ll want/need any further separate flight panel to go with the whole outfit. And it would be great if there is some day AR to let one still use one’s physical “stuff” handily but present the deception that it’s part of one’s VR cockpit!

I believe that the Honeycomb Yoke combined with their TQ and TrackIR obviates the need for external flight panels.

The only flight panel I was considering was one for tuning the radios as doing so in the sim can be frustrating at times. However, I am willing to bet that I will be able to use one of the programmable switches on the TQ to trigger the command to tune the radios, and then use the heading knob to actually tune the radio itself. For example, I reprogramed the switches on the yoke such that I flip the lower aileron trim switch to the right to toggle “Set Altitude” and to the left to toggle “Set Heading” and then I use the upper aileron trim switch to actually set the value that I want to turn or climb/descend to.

If I’m able to program it the way I’m saying it, and IDK if I explained it well enough, then there is no need for external panels as I will be able to physically tune the radios on the TQ and see what I’m doing on screen by turning my head with TrackIR.

Well maybe this could be an option for the keyboard and mouse. https://www.amazon.com/Seville-Classics-Mobile-Laptop-Computer/dp/B07DLK9D9B/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=computer+keyboard+table+stand&qid=1606948506&sr=8-3

Looks pretty usable - too bad it’s not collapsible and doesn’t fold up when not in use. I like my old Black & Decker Workmates because they can actually fold up and stand vertically in the space against a wall that a door opens against - and the door still opens wide enough to be usable - and the wall space used for workbench storage is otherwise unusable for anything. But my Workmates are all spoken for in their uses and they don’t roll like the Seville computer cart - nice thing about the cart is the two front wheels lock and as Amazon products go, it’s pretty highly rated if you sum the 5- and 4-star reviews. Thanks for the suggestion on the cart!

I think you need to go home for the day. You do not look well. You are sufferning from TQ Flu.

GUYSSSSS!!! IT CAME EARLY!!!
