Traffic icons - explanation

I have traffic on TBM screens - but I am unsure as to the arrow indicator icon meaning. Altitude, direction and relative speed self explanatory - but the arrow (ascending / descending) seems to be broken - or - I don’t understand what it is showing. I understood an arrow pointing up (i am using North Up on the map) indicating the traffic was “climbing”, and, arrow pointing down, descending. However, watching the indicators in flight - the arrow seems totally random - pointing up, altitude digital is showing aircraft descending, etc.

Maybe I just don’t understand the icons…

Is there any source to explain what is being shown ?

Thanks

I’m not sure how it works on the G1000/3000, usually a traffic symbol trend arrow indicates the intruder is climbing / descending with at least 500 ft/min.
