Brief description of the issue:
Flying, pause sim by ESC. Return to flight shortly thereafter and ATC says, “Traffic, Traffic” for the rest of the flight. There are no planes in the area.

Thanks for the responses. It is TCAS on not ATC - silly me. The plane I am flying when it happens is the Aerosoft CRJ. I’d still like to figure out why it’s happening.
I read that actual pilots will get a false alert do to other craft leveling off and other things, the article said as many as 2 per month, more in NY or LA.
I’d be extra concerned if it got to Resolution Advisory without another aircraft but the occasional blip isn’t unrealistic.

Upon hearing the Traffic Advisory, the crew will look at the Traffic Display to see where the traffic is located. If flying in clear skies, the crew will look out the windows and attempt to spot the intruder. Even if the crew sees the traffic, they must still follow commands from air traffic control. It’s very likely that the other aircraft won’t cause a problem. Sometimes, safe maneuvering, like an aircraft leveling off at a safe altitude below, will trigger a Traffic Advisory. In a busy month of flying I’ll get one or two TAs. Crews flying in really busy areas like New York or LA might see a few more.
