Trees graphic problem in misty ground fog conditions

Just tried taking off from EGHI (Southampton UK) 12:00 BST with live weather which is currently showing a light groundfog/mist conditions which clear at about 1200ft .

While I’m in the mist all the trees appear to have black flickering dots to their edges. Looks like you are flying through a plague of locusts. Once you get aboove the mist it’s fine.

Not noticed this before and I haven’t changed any settings or drivers.
Tried restarting PC and sim but still the same.

Anyone else seeing this?

I’ve noticed that too. The trees become semi transparent

Might have to do with the improvement of “fireflies” around trees in front of clouds that was announced in the beta release notes.

I must have missed that in the notes. They got that wrong though, these fireflies have no bioluminecence they are just black, maybe the next update

Lots of odd effects with mist and trees. I’ve been seeing blocky shapes on tree lines when there is mist in the distance and it kinda dances around in motion.

Trees in the distance (roughly on the edge of the tree vis area) with smog before them are drawn very dark and overly conspicuous (screenshot), while in a distance of about 1 km they are dark flickering spots (similar to raindrops on the windshield).

Yep, that’s what I was trying to describe in my original post.
As far as I’m aware this is a new problem since SU3 Beta. Not seen this in any other version so far.

A lot going on with the trees…they seem to “morph” from one model (LOD) to another while zooming..

Yes, this LOD level switching with semitransparent stages when nearing a tree seems also a new development of SU3. I can live with it, but not with those distant flickering trees and those standing out in front of fog.

Count me in. The flickering is both obvious and ridiculous. One big step back, not to mention heavy fps

Same issue here with trees when there is fog. I didn’t notice it before SU3 beta.
