Trim not working on velocity one flightstick

I have a Velocity One FlightStick for Flight Sim 24

Flying a Cessna 172

I am turning the trim wheel on the centre of the stick at the top - but nothing is happening - the trim dial at the bottom is not changing however much I turn the wheel - the dial to the right of flaps and left of altitude - it is permanently stuck on 14 %

Any ideas how I fix this ?

Thanks

Rudder or trim Assistance option in MSFS on?

Thanks for the info - will check and report back when I next run the game

check it is set to button or analog in the turtle beach app. at least thats the settings for my flightdeck. might apply for your stick too. that trim knob has two modes. can be changed without leaving MSFS. just change it on the TB app, push the change and blamo.

WOULD BE NICE TO SEE IN BINDINGS IF THINGS WORKED WHEN YOU TOUCHED SWITCHES Asobo

I have velocity one flightstick app installed on Xbox - is there a setting on the app or does something need to be changed on the app to get trim to work ?

you can do this already by searching for input. click the button to the right of the search box, move a control or axis or buttom and it shows you what its bound to.

Is that on the game or app - think it’s the game

There are settings for controls for flightstick on the game - but don’t know exactly how I assign trim to work for the trim wheel

In exact steps - not sure what I need to do - all I have is a picture of flightstick in game and loads of settings listed

the trim wheel of the velocity one flight stick by turtle beech has a range of 65,000 - 0. when using the middle wheel as a trim wheel. there is a setting in 2024 flight controls to assign it as an axis for the trim. Also, on the stick itself there is a setting to make the wheel analog or digital. you can also check the position of the wheel by monitoring “indicator” in the settings for “trim wheel” on the stick itself. I have mine set up as an axis for the trim and analog use. However, I can turn the wheel to go out side the range the simulator can respond to. therefore, before each flight, I double check to see if the trim wheel is centered by monitoring it’s position on the stick’s indicator readout which is around 30800-31000. if while flying you spin the wheel out of range, it can be very frustraiting thinking it’s no longer working. if in doubt, keep spinning the wheel up up up, for a long time, if no response sttill, try down down down again for a long time, you might find the trim in the plane suddenly comes alive once again. that is when you know you are in the zone of effectiveness.

this is in the turtle beach windows app im referring to

I am on xbox series x and velocity one flightstick. The velocity one flightstick app is installed on the series x

I guess I have to go into the app for xbox series x for the velocity one flight stick - probably - and change something there possibly

yes, look there

Hello - please find enclosed screen pictures which I will explain

Firstly - I have auto-rudder and AI Auto-Trim switched on in the Piloting Assustance settings. What I find is that on taking off in the Cesna 172 - on turning the velocity one flightstick stick it manually changes the rudder left and right as you move on the runway on takeoff - which is fine.

As you can see from the pic, the trim values change on the dial - and I am not stuck on 14% as before - but the issue is that the trim is adjusted automatically as you fly in the air. When I move the trim wheel - nothing happens. This is because AI Auto-Trim is switched on, but even when this setting is switched off - you still cannot manually adjust the trim by turning the wheel on the flightstick.

The problem is I cannot assign the trim wheel of the flightstick to manually change the trim. I have searched trim in the search box - as you can see from the pic - I get a load of trim variables listed - from the screen pic. The one I want to assign to the trim wheel is the altitude trim - nose up and nose down. The trim wheel is shown I think as number 14 on the picture of the flightstick to the right of the list of trim variables.

I don’t know what exact things i need to do to enable this - that is to assign the trimwheel on the flightstick - which enables me to manually change the trim by turning the trimwheel

Hope this makes sense

Thanks Sriram

  1. turn off AI auto trim
  2. assign the trim wheel to elevator trim axis (-100 to 100%)….i believe joystick axis 8 is the trim wheel….you can delete the buttons assigned to elevator trim up and down if you wish…
  3. i have V1 joystick set on analog but not sure if it makes a difference if it’s on analog or digital…

i have a Xbox Series S and the trim wheel works fine under those settings……

Same problem here. No matter what I try, cannot get trim wheel on V1 Flight Stick to work on PC in MSFS2024. If anyone has solved this, I’m interested:)
